Archive Removal

How to remove a posting:

  1. Enter the URL of the message you want to remove. Find the message that you want to remove from the threaded archives, and copy its URL in the space below. Then press the Submit button.
  2. Wait for the confirmation message. We will send a request for confirmation to the e-mail address that was used to post the message. This is to make sure that only the person who originally posted a message can remove it.
  3. Go to the confirmation URL. The confirmation message will tell you to go to a specific web page in order to confirm the removal request. If your mail program highlights the URL as a hotlink, you should just be able to click on it; otherwise, copy the URL into your Web browser.

After following these steps and confirming your removal request, a RootsWeb staff member will carry out the request. The process will usually take at least a day after confirming your request; please have patience.
