You should take a look at the book "Cracker Cavaliers". It is a detailed account of the 2nd Georgia Cavalry. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the 2nd Regiment of Georgia Cavalry is a different unit than the 2nd Regiment of Georgia Cavalry Home Guard or "Chattahoochie Rangers" in which he served. The best thing to do is look for your soldier in the Compiled Service Records. The Georgia Archives and a number of good Southern libraries will have these records.
