7. Re: [ABERDEEN] MI LIST [1]
Trond, I for one appreciate all your hard work to keep public information "free". Of course there is always going to be someone who does'nt feel that things are operating the way they want. If the person had a problem why not could they not just "fix" the problem instead of lashing out at you. In my opinion you are doing a GREAT job for the list!! Margaret Reno, Nevada

9. Re: [ABERDEEN] Visit to Aberdeen and Peterhead [1]
Hi Andrew, Maybe you can help with my questions seeing as you're a postie. Last year I visited Boddam and asked at the post office for directions to "A Street, Boddam." The address given on the census returns refer to houses as A10, A11 & A19, etc. The young lady behind the counter said, "There is no A Street in Boddam." This I found confusing. It turned out that the post office is located on what was "A Street" - the road names had changed! I have worked out that A street (lower end) = Queens Road; A stree

11. [ABERDEEN] Strathdon research [1]
For any of you who are researching families from Strathdon, you may wish to visit www.geocities.com/swalker7736. My winter project has been the transcribing and posting of Strathdon parish and death records; there are about 50 years of christenings posted there to date, as well as a number of the years of death records between 1855-1865. Some death records from neighboring parishes appear as well. Enjoy! Suzanne Walker

16. [ABERDEEN] Inventory of Property [1]
Could SKS please tell me where I would write to obtain a copy of an inventory of property taken at the time of my great great grandfather's death? I know one exists as my father wrote to the "Sheriff of Aberdeen" in the early 1960s to ask about obtaining it, and was quoted a cost of two and a half pounds, but obtained his will only. Am I correct in thinking that this is what is known as a "sasine"? Many thanks. ______________________________________________________________________ Web-hosting solutions

18. [ABERDEEN] Help for a Novice ? [1]
Hi fellow listers Can sks please explain something to this genealogy novice, post 1855 the marriage records give the bride/groom ages and parents names and it is therefore fairly easy to trace back through these. The pre 1855 OPR marriages seem to only give the bride and grooms names and the parish where they belong and are being married. Without the bride and grooms ages or parents identity how on earth is it possible to get a match for their birth records ??. all the best, Keith Alexander Ross

Her parents were Robert Pirie (b. 19 June 1846 in Waterside, Slains Parish) and Jane Rennie (b. around 1850 in Collieston, Slains). Some day I think we will find a connection with our families! If you've anyone else that you think may match, please let me know. Kathy ----- Original Message ----- From: To:
