Hi everyone,
I have a very old picture of my Louisiana ancestors, however, it's a copy on
paper. Does anyone know how I can enhance it? It's hard to zoom in on it
because then the pixels become present.
If anyone has any advice let me know. This picture is from the 1800s and I
don't know what else to do to preserve it.
Thank you,
Theresa M. Mosby

Don,
I assume you were trying to ask who married Alexandre Louis LANDRY.
SWLR (CD-101) has the following entries:
LANDRY, Alexandre Louis (Alexandre Charles & Louise Antoinette PEYTAVIN)
m. 14 June 1842 Henriette LASTRAPES (Charles & Marie Magdeleine DECLOUET)
(SM Ch.: v.8, #210)
LANDRY, Alexandre Charles (Alexandre Louis & Marie Louise Henriette
LASTRAPES) b. 21 August 1843 (SM Ch.: v.9, #13)
Interesting hypothesis, Don, that this might be a fifth independent
LANDRY line. None of the references to
Karen:
Were the progenitors of this family, Etienne Nicolas LANDRY & Marie Adelaide
LEPEU, natives of France?
Did they have any roots in Acadia (the two Renis), French Canada (Quebec)
[Guillaume Landry], or Switzerland (Jean-Jacques Landry)?
Or are they the fifth separate Landry Line who settled in North America?
From what you have the 1st generation is: Etienne Nicolas LANDRY m Marie
Adelaide LEPEU; 2nd generation Alexandre Charles LANDRY (Etienne Nicolas
LANDRY & Marie Adelaide LEPEU) m Louise Antoinet

when someone wondered if all Blanchards were related. Are there any

Feast of St. Joseph is celebrated on March 19
One of the great traditions on St. Joseph's Day is the beautifully decorated
altars made to honor the Patron Saint of carpenters, fathers and Sicily to
name a few. These altars, which have been around for centuries, are a labor
of love by Sicilians who create them to give thanks for good fortune,
fulfill a promise or just to share with those who are less fortunate.
Legend states that during the Middle Ages there was a severe drought and
famine in Sicily. The p
Hi Jackie,
That could be in St-Jean, L'Acadie, Quebec. There was no more Acadie
after the 1700s.
I don't have a register for St-Jean or I would look it up for you.
Perhaps someone else does though.

Hi,
I wanted to give you all a heads up before the fact. We all know from past
experience that problems can occur during "routine maintenance". I believe
last time we were down daysssss:-). It should be just those 3 hours and
that's all that is expected.
Since the whole Rootsweb site will be down it will be easy to tell when we
are up and running again. If the site comes up tomorrow but no messages are
coming thru, please remember to check the helpdesk, the link is below.
Keeping my fingers crossed,
Hi listers,
May I request that the answer be posted to the list, as I am interested in
this information as well? The information I have on this family, Pierre
Richard and Cecile Granger, is very limited at this time. In fact, I only
have a daughter for them, Marie Marguerite, born in 1773.
Thank you,

Does anyone know anything about item #3611909514 on ebay. It's an index of Acadia Parish Militiary Discharges from 1887-1990. Is this a one-of-a-kind or were very many printed up?
Thanks.

Do you have any information on the Aubertine family? I am having a difficult
time finding any information, all I have are a few names: My great
grandmothers parents were Perley and Emma (Bouvier) Aubertine and Perleys parents were
Francis and Ida Aubertine.
Does anyone have access to what is know as a Saints Day Calender from
second Acadian Coast of Louisiana mid- 1800 to late 1800's.
I have a theory that for example a female Marie Joseph was born or
baptised on St. Joseph Day.
Any other explanation would be greatly appreciated
