(For the AFR-GAMBIA list the maximum member bounce score is: 3) This can happen for a number of reasons - some of t

I have only been able to find one of the children on the British consular birth and death indices (he was born in Madeira and not listed below as he died) and I'm wondering if t

Hi Philip, I'm sorry but I can't answer any of your questions but I'm replying because as far as I know I'm the only person on this list. I've tried sending an email to the administrator but have had no response. I have some family who lived in the Gambia for a while and have found some of them on the GRO Consular Birth, Marriage and Death Indices. If you've haven't tried these you can access them for a fee on www.findmypast.com also my local LDS family history centre has these records on fiche which I

Hello Rebecca Thanks for writing. I noticed that there hadn't been much traffic on this list, and assumed there were few active members. I may follow up your suggestion, simply out of curiosity about what happened to John Mantell's wife. 25. [AFR-GAMBIA] Sir John MANTELL - Magistrate [1]
If anyone has access to any Colonial records about the Gambia, can they enlighten me about the work and family of John Iles MANTELL? It looks as if he and his wife Susan had at least one child in the Gambia, a daughter named Laura about 1850. It is also possible that his wife died there and is buried there. As far as I know, Mantell Street in Banjul is namedafter him. Any help would be much appreciated. Kind regards Philip Candy London _______________________________________________________________
