I found a post on a Wiggins message board dated 2000, but have not been able to reach the author thru the posted email address.
Would like to make contact with descendants of Willie Lea Wiggins(1891-1960) who married Curtis F Truett in Houston County, Alabama.
My grandmother Sarah Frances Wiggins Moates was the sister of Willie Lee Wiggins.
Would like to share genealogy information.
Thanks,
Annette Moates Sasser
Deliah and Lists:
Thank you so much for your willingness to assist me. Another list
member, Gretchen, sent me the information that I needed. It is amazing that I had
been looking for Wilbur CROSS for 3 years and in one day, after posting to
the list, he has been located and the family "fable" confirmed to be a
reality. Thanks to you, Thanks to all.

William Rice Dead
We regret to note the death of William Rice which occurred last
Friday. He had a stroke of paralysis last May from which he never
recovered. Mrs. Rice was 78 years of age and was one of Blount's best
citizens. He was a devout christian and had been a member of the Baptist
church for many years. He was one of the old soldiers who saw hard
service in the Confederate Army.
The deceased was a brother of our townsman, Jake Rice, who
I have a Marion Roberts who married a Mary.
On the 1850 Santa Rosa County census for Florida, it says they married in
1850. He was 40 and she was 14. He was from Virginia and she was from Alabama.
I need a marriage record. They could have been married in Alabama.
Thanks,
Kathy thompson

George Ingle, formerly of Harkwick's beat, died of typhoid fever at
Wylam August 1st, age about 28 years. He leaves a widow and one child.
The remains were interred at Chepultepec.
One word of caution about this database. Some facts could be in error. It
showed my dad as married with dependents at the time of his enlistment,
which wasn't true. My dad was still living with his parents when he
enlisted. Somehow something got mixed up.
So always double-check the facts.

D.C. Stephens Dead
The many friends of Dulany C. Stephens will regret to learn of his death
which occurred in a Birmingham infirmary last Thursday. Mr. Stephens had
been suffering for some time from a brain trouble and had been carried
to Birmingham for treatment. The deceased was one of Blount's best
citizens and resided on route 2, Walnut Grove. He was about forty years
of age and had been a member of the Baptist church for many years. He is

I have an old photo of a Mr.and Mrs. Frank COCHRAN of Gadsden, AL. It says on the photo they were friends of my grandparents, John William and Sabra Jane Burttram GANN . It may have been taken any where from 1918 - 1920.
Any one know them?
Linda
If you write the address at the bottom of the emetery, they will send you
all the info you need and then you can send to St Louis for his file.

I have an old photo that belonged to my grandmother, it is of Miss Maggie Smithers and the other two ladies are referred to as Mrs. Powell's sisters-in-law. Looks as though it was the early 1900's.

I am alive. I have just sent another email on the storm. I did suffer damage
and some of my paper files, etc. were wet. I appreciate all the concerns out
there. Please pray for us and our neighbors in Mississippi and Louisiana.
This is the worst disaster I have ever seen in my life time. There are
homeless people wandering over the state line looking for anything they can get.
People are sleeping in roofless houses and sheds in Miss., if that lucky.
Many banks are still closed and people h

FYI... I have just received a letter from Linda Robinson of the Ocean Springs
Genealogical Society in Ocean Springs, MS. She and a pet cat rode out the
storm at here home. Both are alive and well in spite of the horrific storm
that came ashore in that state. Linda has stated to me that the workshop I am
scheduled to do there in October is still a go. She says that the Mary C.
O'Keefe Building, where the workshop is scheduled to be held, is still standing.

Are you Wilbur's only living relative or is there a relative who is closer
in lineage than you?
If you're the only relative, you may be able to get his military records
from the National Personnel Records Center. But you'll need more info such
as a Social Security or military service number and you may need a copy of a
death certificate.
A more direct relative can request the info without the certifications, but
you will still need to know more about what unit he was in.

FYI... Just a quick note to let my genealogy friends know that I am alive.
My family live on the Alabama-Mississippi State line with George County, Miss.
We all rode out the storm here. My mobile home lost its roof and had
other damage. I have "sky light" in the living room. There were many mobile
homes in our community destroyed from tornadoes, winds, etc. We have no city
water and are relying on a regenerator to pump well water.
It is somewhat rough here as gas is almost non-existent
