Dear Readers, recently heard from a lady who has been quite ill. She sought my help in identifying a picture that she has in her possession. She says it might be a Bynum or possibly Biddy Harris, daughter of Micajah Harris. I am trying to get the picture placed in a local newspaper for identification purposes and have passed copies to some folks that might be able to help with this puzzle. If anyone has a picture of Biddy for comparison this would be great! I am taking a picture to the Blount Co. Museum in
McCay Family Bible Records. Bible in possession of Mrs Scott Henderson of Trussville. Rebound in new cover. Presentation page dated in the 1880s. Mrs. Henderson said that her McCays were pioneer family of Blount Co. Alabama. From a very old Jefferson County Quarterly. Info in it's entirity:
Wedding Certificate: This certifies that William C McCay and Sarah E Hallmark were united in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony at Blount County on the 18th day of October in the year of our Lord, 1866.

To Blount County Researchers,
I would appreciate any help that might be available in finding information about my great-grandfather, who I think was named Tom Shelton. He lived in Brooksville and had 9 sons and two daughters in the late 1800s and early 1900s. One of those sons was Patrick Henry Shelton, who married Dona Mae Hughes (second wife) and moved to Texas. He later brought Dona Mae and all their children back to Blount County and left them so he could go back to Texas and marry someone else. He

Hi everyone,
I've written Melba privately, but wanted to post something to the list, too,
since I know I'd be pretty darn upset to learn that Melba was being removed
from the ALBlount mailing list!
First, let me assure everyone that I value Melba's participation on ALBlount
and would never dream of removing her from the list. She's definitely a
member in good standing. :-) I think what happened is that Melba was
removed from the list by an automatic function of the Rootsweb mailing list

Melba and Glenda, There is a virus out there that will SPAM using an
infected computer's e-mail address. Some servers have software that look for
patterns that resemble SPAM. When I read Melba's e-mail on the subject, that
was the first thing that popped into my mind. Computers are great but they
have absolutely no commonsense. When their lack of commonsense causes a
problem, as in the case of Melba, we just need a nice human like Glenda to
step in and sort it all out :^) You do a great service managing the

Thank you Glenda for being so sweet and for figuring out this mess. You are a jewel. I just could not for the LIFE of me figure out what had happened! And thank you Randall Haney for your input. I am researching the South family on my husbands side. His great grandfather was Giles Alonzo South, who was married to Annie Lee McAnally. His father was Jim South (James Lonzo) who was married to Lily Mae Tredwell. I am trying to find who was James' parents, I think it may they may have been George W. South and Fannie Frances Lawrence. (But not too sure) James, Mae, Giles Alonzo, and William (Alonzo's brother) are buried in Youngtown Community (Owens Chapel Cemetary). Giles' wife is buried with their

Michael lived near King's Mountain, Lincoln Co. NC or York Co. SC.
Apparently, he was married before to Nancy (unknown) and died before 1818. I
am attempting to learn who their children were. Did they settle in Tennessee
or Missouri?
I believe his brother George Huffstetler was the same George Huffstetler who

Does anyone have any information on the marriage of Benjamin Franklin McAnally and Minerva Holt. They were married probably about the mid 1800's. I am also looking for information on Benjamin Goodloe McAnally and Anna Louisa Campbells marriage. They were maried Feb. 27, 1927 either in Lawrence County or Blount. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (There is a reference to Tishomingo for the marriages also but have not found a thing) Jenn

Bob,
<<<< This family seemed to name every child after an uncle or aunt.>>>>>
-- Not just in your Huffstetler family!!!! It seems that most families of
that time period named all their children for someone else.
In one of my lines, I have a chart that shows one couple's children [the
children were born 1823-1840] and grandchildren [born 1841-1880]. Of the
58 known grand-children, all except about 10 have at least one name [most
have 2 or 3] from a grandparent, parent, aunt or uncle listed on the chart
