It is true that we can not correct the past actions of family and friends in
regards to family records. As I watch my genealogy files grow, I have asked
(demanded) that each surname file be donated to a genealogy group or library in
the counties they resided in. Some later generation would appreciate our files,
I am sure.

The Heritage Book Committee is having all
kinds of difficulties getting the submitted
articles ready for the publisher. One thing
we run into is lack of address in which we
depend on. An e-mail address is good, a
snail address is necessary. If anyone
around Troy can get Dianna Daughtry Lee
or Ryan W Daughtry to contact us by
e-mail or send us an address to P.O.

Hello List,
Trying to backtrack and find ancestors and family of Wesley D. Carter
(b.1802 in SC). Wesley was in Dale Co., by 1834-1839. He also fought in

I am also very interested in the Absolem Carter family. Absolem Carter and
Nancy Wilkerson Carter were my ggggrandparents. Below is the information
that I have which is not much, but my offer some leads.
Absolem Carter, born about 1780, married Nancy Wilkerson on 4 Sept 1812 in
Franklin Co, GA.
Absolem might be the son of John Carter and Nancy Ann Jarret Carter, but I
have no proof of this relationship.
Absolem had a son named Absolem, a daughter named Frances Ann, and other
children. Frances

I know why he feels this way, None of his family ever comes to visit him.
Some of his sisters have never been in our house more than 2 or 3 times and
we will be married 50 years in Oct. It is so sad and we lived in the same
town for 25 years and now are within 30 and 100 miles of all of his family.

O.K. Girls! We can't let these two :-) chauvinists get away wit
Now I am really keen on that remark "keeping Husband,"but feel it is more
demeaning that "Keeping House." In view of this I think I will just be "House
Keeper"
OK, I am off my soapbox

If only this were only fiction! A cousin was fortunate enough to salvage
a 1830's family Bible from the trash pile before the fire was started.
There are too many that barely understand current events so that the
importance of "ancient" family history escapes them.

This is pure fiction in the whole, I'm sure and designed to scare us
into action.

I'm working on my family genealogy and was told that one of my great
uncle's...Noel Pylate died in Greenville, Alabama. According to family
lore, he owned some type of store (possibly a hardward or general store) in
Greenville, Alabama at one time.
Noel Pylate died in September 1965 in Greenville, Alabama, according to my
grandfather.
If anyone knows any information, please let me know. Thanks.
David W. Pylate
