I didn't find Larkin Kay or L. Kay in the 1850 census anywhere. There
is a Milton Kay, 18, and Ellen L. Kay, 16, in the 1850 Benton AL census
on page 340B in the household of Thomas Johnson, 40, born in Ireland.
The birthplace of both Milton and Ellen is SC. Hope this helps.

I am looking for the family of Larkin Kay who was born from 1808-1810 in
Abbeville or Anderson Co. South Carolina. He was married to Elizabeth
Hopkins Kay who was born in 1813 probably in South Carolina. They had a son
named John T. Kay who was their oldest child, we think and he lived in
Benton Co, and Calhoun Co., Alabama and we have found him in the census
records there for 1850 and 1860 and maybe others. Larkin Kay and his wife,
Elizabeth Hopkins left South Carolina headed for Alabama before 1850. In

was listed on the 1880 Calhoun Co. Census on page 682.

I noticed your last name on the Calhoun Co. list. Are you related through
the Bollings to Pocahontas? I am related to Col. John Fleming who married
Jane Rolfe, granddaughter of Pocahontas. I am descended from John Fleming's
sister, Susannah, who married John Bates.

I am looking for the family of Larkin Kay in 1850 in Benton Co. or Calhoun
Co. Alabama if it existed at that time. I know that Benton Co. did, but
don't know about Calhoun in 1850. Larkin Kay and his wife Elizabeth lived in
Talladega Co. Alabama in 1860 but I can't find them in 1850. Larkin was born
in South Carolina probably in Abbeville Co. or Anderson Co. South Carolina.
I'm not sure if Elizabeth was born in South Carolina or maybe Georgia. Her
maiden name was Landers. John T. Kay, Larkin Kay's son from
