I have come into possession of a 1910 Navarro Co., Texas census that
shows that M.E. Ella Hicks's father was born in South Carolina. Her
mother in Alabama. She was born in in 1864. Married Chilton Co., 1885 or
1888 (hard to read document). She was wife of Tom Faulkner of Chilton
Co.,Al.) Does anyone have any connection to these Hicks?

Will your family be left out of the "Heritage of Autauga County" book? Will
your family history and stories be there for your children and
grandchildren to enjoy? The following is an up to date list of the surnames
for which we have at least one story submitted. If your family is not
listed, they won't be in the book. The deadline is August 31st so you still
have plenty of time to submit an article. There is no charge for submitting
an article and you do not have to order a book. Let me know if you need a

The Oct. 31st deadline was a misprint in the newsletter. The correct date
for Heritage of Autauga County is August 31st.

There was an error in this month's newsletter from the Heritage of Alabama
folks. The deadline for Autauga County is August 31st rather than October
31st. You still have plenty of time to send in your stories.
For family stories, if your family came to Autauga before 1890 you can
submit up to 1,000 words and two photos FREE. If they came after 1890 you
can submit up to 500 words and one photo FREE. That is words per story, not
words per submitter. You can submit more than one story at no charge. Words

Lynda, you are an angel!
I have been looking for the burial places of the following people who
lived in Autauga and Perry Counties before Chilton was formed and
perhaps were buried in what is present-day Chilton. These folks were
mostly Methodists.

Hello,
When you think of April 15th you naturally think of death and taxes. Two
things we can't avoid. Well the good news is that April 15, 2000 is also
the date of the next Old Autauga County Family Reunion. Mark your calendars
now! The event is sponsored by the Autauga Genealogical Society.
It will be much bigger and better than this year's reunion. We plan to have
many more venders and booths. We checked the dates and there seem to be no
conflicts with other events in the area. Everyone researching in
The Heritage of Shelby County books are in and those that had ordered
books may pick up their book(s) at the Columbiana Library on Saturday
July 3rd, and Saturday July 10th during normal library hours.

Hi everyone. After many promises and delay's on my part the 1880 census
will Beat 2 is being proofed and should soon follow.
Beat 8 could be following soon after if someone can proofread it. I
need someone preferably with transcription experience and MS Office or
MS Excel 97 experience. I do have
copies of the census to provide. I'm scheduled for so many hours in the
next few monthes I don't kow when I'll get to it. Transcribers for Beat
3 would be helpful.

I must apologize. In my haste I misread the article that I responded to. I
was thinking about Pike County, which is where my ancestors were from. Their
deadline is Oct 31st. Plese excuse the mistake.

Could you please look up Dora Malone Riggins wife of Daulby Newton
Riggins...she died about 1904 . Daulby was then the postmaster in Thorsby,
Chilton Co, AL. Yes I am also related to Clecklers, and Jeff Cleckler was a
guest in my grandfather's home in Boston when he was a WWII sailor. There are
two Daulbys/Dolbys...father and son...one is probably buried with Melissa
Rasberry Riggins his wife/mother of #2. also, if you find Dora, are there any
other Malones nearby...this is an old name in the USA but
anyone needing a lookup in the Chilton Co. area I have the book and will
do lookups has helped me a lot
