Have you tried Wallace State College in Hanceville? They have the death
index rolls and copies are 25 cents each. Most are very readable.

Are you having a difficult time finding ancestors or their descendents who may have been in the west central part of Alabama? Queries are needed for the newspaper column "The Family Tree" maintained by the Walker County, Alabama Genealogical Society, Inc. Send queries to jlane@sonet.net or Walker County Genealogical Society, Inc., P.O. Box 3408, Jasper, AL 35502-3408. Please include your name and mailing address with your queries. You may view this column online each Friday on the Lifestyles page of the Dai
Depending on how many queries come in, any query is usually printed within a
week to a few weeks. I will gladly run this again this coming Friday. Did you
check the online newspaper to see it when it was printed before? I forwarded
your query to a Dennis Freeman in Cullman County who also has Armstead Blevins
in his line. Did you get an e-mail message from him? He would have answered if
his computer was working at the time I sent it on to him. Below is the query
as it was printed:

Most of the people who read the query column do so online at
www.mountaineagle.com each Friday on the Lifestyles page. Since Cullman
families came into Walker County, there will be Cullman people reading this
column. There is a newspaper in Cullman whose editor is genealogy-inspired.
He has a lot of history items and family items. Do you want me to find an
address for you to contact tht newspaper?
The Birmingham News in Birmingham has a Sunday column "Family Ties" that
accepts queries from everywhere an
Garrison Cemetery is here also. Give me some names that you are looking
for and I will check both Cemeteries. In 1880-1890 this was Blount county,
Alabama. Thanks rlw

I've sent in two different letters to you on the Campbell family to be ran in
the family tree and received replies from you. Can you tell me how long it
takes to have them printed? I no it must have been at least 6 months or so by

Thank You

Good subject, what were really talking about is money. I have had full access
to ancestry.com for the past 6 years. One thing I have learned in doing
genealogy research is, one should (NOT COPY) someone's files unless you no they
have researched all names you are connected to and the information is correct.
What ancestry.com is offering is great, and your glad to pay for it but it
still doesn't mean what there family files have in them is correct information.
It is just someone putting their family fi

Del,
Birmingham news has in their Sunday issue a small column called "Family
Ties". A lot of Cullman County and people all over the US read it online.
Go to www.Al.com then select the Bham news and it will give you the address
to send your query. I sent mine in one week and it appeared the next week.
Good luck. RPH

I would love to have his address and e-mail so I could contact him. My

I looked last night and this morning at columns about the time the
original query was received in late February and all of March and April for
the date the query was printed and could not find it either. I don't know
what happened unless that is one of the times that the newspaper goofed and
a column was not printed and maybe yours got left out in the shuffle the
next week or the next. This happens sometimes. And I definitely goof a lot
of the time. I sincerely apologize and will run your query several ti
