Again, thanks so much; the old feller has made it thru three wars, a Texas Centennial and peed in the Rio Grande so reckon we'll weather this one too. Deo Vindice, Homer T.

6. Re: [DALE COUNTY] MS BEA -ABOUT HOMER [1]
I will be honored to deliver anything or to do any thing I can to honor Homers memory. I had thought of making a copy of all e-mails that are sent to ALDALE and assembling them for the family. I am sure there are other things we can do but since his wife doesn't use the computer and I'm not sure there are others who do, I think that will be meaningful to them. Let me know what else I can do. My Best to all, Bea

9. Re: [DALE COUNTY] Gathering Surname list (Roll Call) [1]
Would someone tell me or refresh my memory as to the Surname list (Roll Call). I seem to have a vague memory of sending the Surnames of those I am researching, but It is so vague that I don't know how it works or how to access it. It is really embarrassing, but how else will I know if I don't ask? Thanks, Bea Scovill

I know we are all deeply grieved at the loss of our Homer and not able to do anything now, but later on, if any of you would like to share a little tidbit about him, I will collect it and when we are able to get past this, I will make a Tribute page to him. What a loss not only to our community, but to the human race!! He will be sorely missed by all of us as he has been in the recent weeks. Jimmie, I believe I have had Garner information from you previously but I somehow didn't put it all together. (whatever it was). Jesse Garner was a brother to my Great grandfather, John Garner. I have much Garner Information but not much about Jesse's family. Perhaps we could share. They were sons of Wiley and Dicey Garner, who came from N. Carolina, and Wiley was the son of Needham, who was born in N.Carolina in 1740 and died there about 1810. Let me know if you are interested. My best to you, Bea

Hi Lawrence, Thank you for the Kind words, i could say the same for you and some others on the list :-), you stayed out in that hot sun last year and took those pictures of Union Cem. and others , Curtis Kennedy and brother did some repairs on some of the stones in Union , this is what they do for a liveing, but they repaired these for free, Mr Butts helped with the survey with his little dog in the harness on his back, i could go on but will stop here :-) (Homer even stopped by there on that Sund
18. [DALE COUNTY] Homer Jones [1]
Since I announced that I live in the area and can call the Ozark area locally, I have had several people to contact me individually and ask about making donations to the library in memory of our friend, Homer Jones. He touched MANY people who were looking for their South Alabama roots! I called the library in Ozark and they are going to call the head of the local Sons of the Confederacy and ask what particular book they think should be given in memory of Mr. Jones. When I hear back from them, I will let ya'

20. Re: [DALE COUNTY] Library's Tibute to Homer [1]
I am sure that Homer's family will be touched. Thanks for letting us know of your tribute. Homer was so friendly and helped everyone he could, not only on this list, but on others, as well. Homer gave freely of his information and time to others, asking nothing in return. He was one of the first people to help me when I started researching CW soldiers in my family tree. I tried to make him a cousin when I found out that this kind man was a Jones, but Ol' Homer wouldn't go for it! :-) I am sure he would be
