Hi Penny,
Go to the following AL Archives websight and click on the county you want.
There will be a list of newpapers available on microfilm and dates. There
are missing issues and some of the issues are unreadable. Check other local
papers besides the Southern Star if you can't find your notice in the Star.
It's an interesting paper to read and not just for birth, marriage, and
death notices.
I printed out the list of newspapers from the websight, took it to the

Hi,
Is there anyone on this list connected to the Browns? The Mrs. Robert Brown
referred to in this article may possibly be Mary E. Wright, sister to my
ggrandmother Sarah Jane Wright Hicks. Also, does anyone know anything about
Mrs. M. P. Skipper.
Thanks for your help.
Jeanette

Ana,
I have no obituary. I have no photocopy of marriage certificate. It is a

Larry, I just got in on the tail end of this discussion. Just what
years does this Southern Star film cover? My ggrandfather died in Dale
Co. 1905 and I have been unable to obtain a death register for him.
Just wondering if the newspaper might have some kind of obit for him.
Marcus L. Thomas. The family lived in the Skipperville area. He and
his wife are buried in Skipperville Cem.
Thanks for any info you might be able to pass my way. If the film

Hi Ana,
Since I think that I remember you were researching Smith's in the area I
thought I would just ask if you have any information on an Arthur Smith who
married Josie Grace, b? May 25, 1894. She should have been born in Dale or
Geneva Co and married Arthur and lived in Geneva Co. I know Smith is common
but you never know unless you ask.
Thanks,

Jeanette,
I believe that Mrs. M.P. Skipper would have been Mrs. Marvin Pledger SKIPPER,
maiden name, Maude SWOPER. Marvin Pledger SKIPPER was the son of Robert Green
SKIPPER and Sarah Ann HALLFORD.
