Dear Dave & Julie,
Well here I am again, but I think that I have more proof of what I have
sent previously. I found William Burton Taylor on the 1850 census of
Marion County, AL (see below).

Thank you to each who responded to my question about John Burton Taylor, son
of William and Eliza. My cousin, J.W. Perkins is another active seeker in
this corner of Alabama for connected cousins and I also appreciate David
Taylor's family information on William Burton Taylor.
Is it not too much of a coincidence that William Burton Taylor, father of
Melinda Taylor Johnson, and my John Burton Taylor would have so many similar
family names? John Burton named a daughter Frances Jane as did W.B. John

Anyone with a Corder line? I found a new 3rd great grandfather, Elias Corder,
who died in early 1856 in what is now Lamar Co., AL Elias came from
Spartanburg Co., SC, Middle Tygar River area, and I believe him to be the son
of William Corder and Gincy Barnett, daughter of Micajah Barnett. I am not
sure who his wife was, except she is listed as Anna on an 1822 deed; but the
Pennington family (of the Spartanburg area also) bought an awful lot at his
estate sale: Soloman Pennington, Benjamin Pennington,

In response to the person sho has the John Wilkes Booth photo, how did the photo come to be in Fayette/Lamar County? In her trial for the assasination of Lincoln, Mary Surratt stated she corresponded with a rebel Capt Samuel Surratt. Is this the same Samuel Surratt who lived in Vernon in 1850 ? Or a son ? My ancestor, William Surratt died in Vernon after 1850 and was the father of Samuel Surratt. I suspect him to be buried in Furnace Hill Cem or there abouts. Mary Surrat was hung by the yanks.
