Karen:
The Bible record of Beldie is referenced in the Heritage of Lamar Co. I did a
story on this family. I have seen it the same ways you named. I think it says
Beldie in the Bible (have to look it up to see). I think it says Beldin in
the census also. His son-in-law was Dupree Beard, a cousin of mine. Dupree's
brother-in-law, also married my grandmother's sister, Bertie Beard, who is in
a nursing home here in Jasper, AL. Her husband was Dayton Miller. My cousin,

As Sabra mentioned in her post to the list on MILLER, I have been scanning
the church records of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church and placing
them on the Lamar ALGenWeb site http://www.rootsweb.com/~allamar2/ .
So far, thank to Sabra :), we have her transcription of these records from
the Heritage book, plus the first 70 or so pages of the actual church
records. I have completed scanning the whole record book (Sabra, I'm sure
you're relieved!), but because Rootsweb has a picky server for uploads, to

Hello everyone.
I was wonering if anyone was working on the Miller family in Lamar County,
AL. My grandmother's maiden name was Ida lee Miller,
(27 April 1904 - 9 Dec. 1986), daughter of J.B. Miller (?-1928) and Julia
McDamiel (1864-1921). I have used the initials J. B. because there is a
conflict over Mr. Miller's name. I have seen it as James Grey, Jerry Beldie,
and Gary Belden. The census has him listed as Jerry Miller, his wedding
certificate as J. B. Miller.

Hi y'all,
I am looking for information on R. Allen Smith,
who appears in estate papers dated 1867 of
Anna Cribbs Smith. He was appointed guardian of Anna's
minor children, all who were Cribbs except for one named
Henrietta Smith. Henrietta was born about 1860 (she was living with
Julia Cribbs Smith in 1870, with her age listed as 10). Julia
was an older daughter of Anna Cribbs Smith.
Would you Smith folks check your info and see if
you have either R. Allen or Henrietta, please? I appreciate it!
Thanks,

Looking through my grandmother's bible, I found a picture and caption from a
newspaper that she had cut out and kept. There's no telling how old it is,
but I'm curious about it since she saved it.
The picture is of Dr. T.J. Springfield and his sons on his 75th birthday.
The captioned reads that he was a practicing physician in Ensley for 24
years. The sons shown and names listed are W.T. Springfield of Sulligent,
A.C. Springfield of Tarrant City, C.W. Springfield of Guin and M.A.
