5. Re: [ALLEN-NE] Justus Allen [1]
I am very interested in the learning more about any Justus Allen. My great grandfather was James Justus Moore. I believe his mother to be Almina Allen, daughter of Elias Taylor Allen and Sophia Emmonds. Elias was born about 1821 in either Mass. or NY. I have not been able to find anyone in my great-grandfather's Moore line with the name Justus. So I am wondering if maybe it came from his Allen line. My great grandfather actually used Justus as his first name most of his life. Does anyone have an

14. Confusing Samuel Allens [1]
Thanks for posting the excerpts from Savage. Having that many men named Samuel Allen certainly does make looking at original records difficult, since it's not usually obvious which Samuel Allen is meant. In his "Genealogy of the Families of Braintree, MA", Waldo C. Sprague agrees with Savage that the Samuel in Braintree had a son Samuel(2) who married Sarah Partrigde & lived in Bridgewater. Thus, this Samuel(2) is not the same as the Samuel of Northampton who married Hannah Woodford, as stated by Seaver.
