Hi, I am looking for information regarding JOHN WILLIAM ALLAN who was born in Gilmeston, Scotland. He married MARGARET WHITSON, daughter of THOMAS WHITSON and AGNES MCKENZIE. She was born October 30, 1865 in Midlothian, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Scotland.
The children of JOHN ALLAN and MARGARET WHITSON are:
i. HUGH JAMIESON ALLAN, b. 1887; d. June 1967.
ii. GEORGE ALLAN, b. April 25, 1903, Midhlothian, Edinburgh, Scotland; d. June 28, 1942, Lihuton, Scotland.

9/16/1771 m. Amy COX b. 1720 Newark, Delaware, d. 9/13/1778
both died London Grove, Chester Co, PA.
John's father is said to be John Allen (Ireland?) and Amy Cox's parents were
William and Amy Cox both born about 1657 in Gloucester England.

Hi Lois, My Skinner family is related to the Richard Allen family, but ours
came from Virginia.....is this the same family. I am not familiar with
David. Richard Allen married Lucinda Corder of Virginia also, then came to
Ohio and most of the family went on to Iowa. Could this be a link?

His daughter Nancy Jane married Francis Shannon, and they are my gr-gr grandparents.
They were married in 1839, in Fayette Co. And it looks like they moved to Ia.soon after that. David is found on the 1840-50 & 60 census for Ceader Co. Ia. There is also a Eara G. Allen located there in 1840.
The Shannon's along with Jermial, James, T.A., Jas. & Richard Allen are all in Muscatine Co. Ia. in time for the 1840 census.

My father is Kenneth Marion Allen born in Lawrence, MI, His father was Marion
Allen Jr also born in MI. His father was Marion Sr. I have found Marion
Allen Sr. on both the 1920 and 1930 census in Michigan. 1920 in Van Buren
County 1930 in Kalamozoo County. I have been able to find Marion Sr. in
SSdeath index but not Marion Jr. I know Marion Sr. was married to Bessie
Crippen. Does anyone know anything about these Allen's? Any help would be

Can anyone help me with finding some information on a James Allen
that was murdered in Indianapolis IN , on July 9th or 10th in 1948?
He was married to Ozella (Barnett) Allen, had three children Norma
Jean, Robert John (Bobby) and James (Jimmy). Their address was 1014
