Hi Lois, My Skinner family is related to the Richard Allen family, but ours came from Virginia.....is this the same family. I am not familiar with David. Richard Allen married Lucinda Corder of Virginia also, then came to Ohio and most of the family went on to Iowa. Could this be a link? Does anyone relate to him? His daughter Nancy Jane married Francis Shannon, and they are my gr-gr grandparents. They were married in 1839, in Fayette Co. And it looks like they moved to Ia.soon after that. David is found on the 1840-50 & 60 census for Ceader Co. Ia. There is also a Eara G. Allen located there in 1840. My father is Kenneth Marion Allen born in Lawrence, MI, His father was Marion Allen Jr also born in MI. His father was Marion Sr. I have found Marion Allen Sr. on both the 1920 and 1930 census in Michigan. 1920 in Van Buren County 1930 in Kalamozoo County. I have been able to find Marion Sr. in SSdeath index but not Marion Jr. I know Marion Sr. was married to Bessie Crippen. Does anyone know anything about these Allen's? Any help would be great. Hello Victor, I have done many Cemetery transcriptions but have not yet got to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. I didn't know there were Allen's there. I'll have to check that out.
