I am going to see what I can to about my ancestor's graves in Washington
County Alabama. A Dentist bought the land for Deer Hunting and in the
summer the grass, weeds and bushes are so high along with the snakes,
so that you can't get in winter or summer.
I have talked with him and he could care less.
I am not sure what I am or will be allowed to do but I am getting started on
it.
My great grandpapa was a Minister , State Rep. and

Hi all,
Ledger Enquirer reporter Brad Barnes has written a two page article in today's Living section about Urban cemeteries - Clapp Factory Cemetery, the Nix cemetery at Buena Visa Road, the grave site of Samuel Cooper, and Shiloh cemetery. This should raise our local community awareness of the cemeteries that need to be taken care of.
The following has the article but not the pictures. Brad included pictures of the Clapp Factory and several graves at other "Urban" cemeteries.

Does anyone recognize any of these names (mention below) McBrides and what
line they are from.
The names were take from a Cemetery inside of Fort Benning, Georgia.
When they lived and died the area was a small town. Fort Benning didn't
buy the land until later.
My line is Joseph A. McBride who married Amanda White
their daughter Sarah Effie "Sally" McBride married Hugh McKenzie.
They lived in Russell and Lee County in Alabama and also in Muscogee
County in Georgia.

Have I missed something on the news?
Thanks for any help.

Does any one have a marriage book and can look up a marriage for me please?
I'm searching for W. C. Thomas or William C. Thomas "Bill" and L. J. that
could be Lizzie J. or Elizabeth J. marriage before 1880.

Ps: If you see one for Davis Polk Spivey and Sarah Jane about 1873 would help
me too.
I am a new subscriber to the Upson County, Georgia and Russell County, Alabama lists and have the task of scanning and trying to translate a few letters written during the Civil War. Most all of the letters were written by people with Upson County, Georgia and Russell County, Alabama interconnected famlies during the period of about 1861 to 1864. Some of the surnames of the connected families are White, Stephens and Blalock. The bulk of the letters were written by Green Lorenzo White, son of Mary Jane Steph
