It has been a long time since we have received any information on the Durdens but am still trying. We really would like to find the parents of Francis Durden, born in North Carolina in 1770 and moved to Georgia before 1793. However, any information on the Durdens would be very helpful. We have received some help, but as you know, we never can get enough.
Thanks,
Dorothy Durden
John and Elizabeth (Gatewood) Massey moved their family from Russell/Lee Co, AL, to Ouachita Co, AR, in 1846/1847, and settled in Washington Twp, the area around Frenchport/Crossroads/Loouann. John and Elizabeth were my ggrandfather/mother. I do not have the name of their first child who was born c1820-1825 in Kershaw Co, SC. She was covered in the 1840 census in Russell/Lee Co, AL but was not on the 1850 Census in Ouachita Co, AR. I can surmise that evidently she got married during this time and may hav

Hi all,
We have extended our deadline to July 31, 2000. Our historian had a
stroke.
Write your family history for us. We need old pictures of sights in
Russell County. We need histories on churches, homes, businesses, and any
history of the county. I am trying to type the history but can not do it
all. The rest of our committtee is in poor health, also. Please help and
send us your family history.
Thanks,
Pat

I am looking for the cemetery in Alabama where my Grandmother was buried. She was Ella Kyle married to Adam Kyle. Adam dropped dead in downtown Bessemer, Ala on Nov. 29, 1912. I believe that Ella (maiden name Ella Kennamer) died in Birmingham, Ala. in 1927. She may have been married to a Hassel when she died.
Any information will be helpful. Thanks.
