My gg-grandfather William H. Stephenson in his application for a marriage license in Chambers County, Alabama, on July 2, 1849, cosigned a $200 bond with Strother Gaines. Then on July 8, 1849, William married Salina C. Browning in the Antioch Baptist Church in Chambers County. Salina was from the County Line Church in Chambers County. My great grandfather John Daniel Davis b.1832 SC died March 1873 Tallapoosa Co, Ala and is buried in Old Union Cemetery south of Jackson Gap. His will was witnessed by JOHN A.
