Hi,
For those of you who are new to the list or the net, I have a huge database
of Alabama marriages. These records include over a dozen Alabaman counties.
URL is http://www.imagin.net/~tracers/alabama_marriages_before_1825.htm

B.J. - Am interested in learning all I can about the Death Register you wrote
about. Where might I locate a copy of it? Is it of a State, County,
City/Town or what? Thanks for any info. Ben - San Antonio TX

I saw that one listed in the UA Cemetery Atlas too but I think it's a
little too far away to be the one I'm looking for. The Death Register
doesn't say "cemetery" just the Shields Place so it was probably a family
or other small cemetery on what was locally referred to as "the Shields Place".
I searched land patents for the area and didn't find any Shieldses owning
property in the vicinity of Gastonburg except right along Chilatchie Creek
and over the line in Dallas County (T15N, R6E, Sect 15) where
Bill and I would like to invite you to visit our Family Tree Website.
Please let us know how you like it and feel free to sujest changes or point
out any errors or omissions. This is a continuing work we will be adding
aditional data as soon as we can, as well as adding Bill's maternal line,
which may take a several weeks to prepare.

The log of Thursday night's chat is available. Thank you, Ouida, for
another great night of sharing Wilcox County information.

BTW, there's a huge gap in the middle of the discussion lasting about 45
mins. I lost power during a t-storm here in Atlanta (we had RAIN!) so
missed that. I DIDN'T destroy the tapes :-)

Just posted a new article by Carroll "Doc" Jones detailing his research on
the lineage of William Hutchinson Norris:
http://www.prairiebluff.com/algenweb/dallas/norris.html
Even if you're not a Norris researcher take a look-see for the type of easy
errors that can creep into even the most respected published genealogies
and then repeated again and again. You might find something similar in your
own lines.
