Searching for someone who may know the name Jackson Alward (Alwood) born in NJ 1817 or 1827. He was still living in 1892. Believed to be living in Michigan in 1892. But that is a wild guess. That is all I know about him other than he was doing a history of this family in 1892. Barbara

2. Alward SURNAME [1]

Getting a response from some of you readers on the Jackson Alward name I happen to think I had a list of vital records which I copied when visiting the Leelanau Co Historical Society in Leland, Michigan. I would like to share these records with you in hopes it will give someone a lead. These records have a date at the top of each sheet dated July 30th 1826. Some are hard to read because of ink/copy spots visible. None of the spelling has been changed in this transcription. Mary Alwood born on Tuesday

This is a bit of a wild guess myself, but there were some ALWARDs in the Camden, Hillsdale Co, MI area. A John C. ALWOOD was the notary on a family will (not connected to my ALWOODs) in the 1870s. An Eve ALWARD did some books on the Camden cemeteries a few years ago, so I've thought there could be a connection between John C. and Eve.
