Dear friend Ron Ferry;
Back then in the American Revolution, there were three languages
prominent - in the following order :-) German - English - French.
And this is why our good Hessian (German) was called
Wilhelm by the Germans,
William by the English,
and GUILLAUME by the French.
Still in three languages the one and only - Wilhelm Lochmann.

Dear Nedra Dickman Brill;
Your reply to my posting on the HINKLE Message Board will
be of great interest to the readers and subscribers of our

recently has organized and implemented a great research tool
which you find here

The site is new but has amazing information, and more is being
added all the time. Any smart familyresearcher would add
this site to her/his favourites. You want to le

I have a new "Guide" which include the pages John mentioned. I'd be glad to
scan them and send them to you, Nelda, if you still need them. Just let me
know how (as in resolution/format) you'd prefer me to send them.

Wouldn't you rather leave us thinking that your name 'Helmut'
is a short form of the adjective: 'heldenmutig', meaning 'heroi
Hi Nelda,
I just tried this link and it is no longer good. It is listed as a banned site by Tripod. Does Silvie have a new site? If so we should update the link.

I have included these books (above) on the books to read page. Hope the

Please give the directions again for how to access the members' page.

clone me... Now that would work! I'll take a dozen please!

German soldiers of "OUR" members page. Weither it is just a little blurp, or
a full webpage .... It will bring more researchers looking for you,... their
relative! If you have your own website we will show your link if you want
your addy so it can't be spammed I do a graphic for it... What ever

Hi John,
How a webpage shows is according to the resolution of your monitor and the
browser you use. Do you want someone to be able to print your articles? I
can fix it that way but people with new systems will see it as a skinny
writting in the center of the screen. Personally, I don't think they should
be able to print it off... If they want it let them buy your books from
either the SAR or the Canadian group. But that is up to you....
Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Hi John and listers,
Your are supposed to be retired because it got to be too much and was
affecting your health.
Help anymore? Good grief, you have a message that helps someone
everyday, even though you are retired.
You have already pretty well answered my question for today. And maybe
there is someone new who will want to know about Wilhelm Lochman and now
he is in the archives for the first time!!! Isn't that one of the
things we are trying to do?
Hopefully someone with the Hetrina volume may
Dear Geri Brennan, dear Hessians:
There was alsoa Hessian soldier named Philipp KLINGER,
of the Hesse-Hanau Chasseur Corps. He served in Canada
and was discharged there in 1783. His place of settlement
was Toronto, where he established himself as a blacksmith.
He is mentioned on page 68 in my book
'The Hessians of Upper Canada",
and also in the book by Henry Scadding,
titled "Toronto of Old", published 1987.
This Hanau Chasseur was born 1758/59 in Hochheim/Main,
which is near Wiesbaden.
Perhaps he was rela

But..... I have a problem. I do not know where the person's name stops and
the unit begins...
Would you look at the page copy down the id number and only the name of the
person so I can put a
comma after the persons name?
Please??
It would help a person like myself... who knows nothing....
There was also;

Hi Listers,
Lately... we have not been removing the unneeded portion of old messages
before sending in a reply... Please try to remembe to do so... Threads can
be read in the archives via the subject lines not old messages in the
current message.
I know we all forget sometimes... yea even me...
Thank you
