I am interested in James Anderson who was born probably in the parish of
Beath in Fife around 1816. I am hoping to make contact with anyone else
interested in this family. James migrated to Melbourne, Australia in the
early to mid 1840s - the exact date is uncertain as he was married and
producing a family by 1846 it would be prior to that date.
His parents, Samuel and Catherine (nee Christie) married at Dunfermline 0n
17th May 1799 and produced the following known children also:

I am researching ROBINSON HOPKIRK ANDERSON...whom I think is my Grt Grandad
x3....But have nothing concrete to back this up.
He lived in Grt Yarmouth Norfolk and then moved to Norwich where I then think
his name was shortened to ROBSON ANDERSON ....have found a death in 1837.
There are several ANDERSONS in Norwich and Yarmouth , but am unable to link
them up.
ROBINSON was the father of GEORGE ANDERSON I think.
Anyone with this gentleman in their family tree...I would be so grateful to
hear from you!

I'll repost my Andersons, taking Marie's advice to add discoveries, etc.
My grandfather Matthew ANDERSON, b. 1837, immigrated to the US (Cambridge,
Massachusetts) from Glasgow in 1867. His parents and youngest brother came
in 1866, as far as I know. His parents were John Orr ANDERSON and Mary Ann
WRIGHT. I had always been told they were born in Scotland, but according to
the 1920 census of Newport, Rhode Island, Mary Ann WRIGHT was born in
Ireland. Now I have access to the 1880 census transcription
