Ciao,
1. Does anyone know of a good history book on the history of
Piemonte, 19th century or 20th century? Either in Italian or English.
2. Also, does anyone have a list of the names of Garibaldi's
1,000, or know a website that contains the names?
Cordiale saluti.

G'day Rod
I had no luck again with this, the URL leads to the Yahoo site and they
won't let me in, and on the other one you gave me, I put in my user name
and password and got this response

Eunice, further to our discussion about access to the AIFHS website's
Members' Area.
I've just been down to the central library in the borough that I live in
here in London. They have about 30 computers set aside for free, hourly
bookable, internet access to library users. Using one of their computers I
had no problems accessing the site, and then no problems accessing the
Members' Area of the site using the username and password that I posted on
the Yahoo Members' Group list.

If you're an AIFHS member who's having trouble accessing the journal, do persist
because I think Kay's pulled together a really interesting issue. Many thanks to
everyone who has contributed to it, as well as to Kay Lorenzato, the editor.
I enjoy reading about other people's searches as well as their successes. I've
had some success recently and have just 'met' via email, a third cousin who has
now joined the Society.
We probably all know how hard it is to take our research research back to Italy

Hi Kay, why can't you access the Members' Area of the AIFHS to download the

Dear Janice:
When you go to: http://www.anglo-italianfhs.org.uk/ do a search with those
surnames in the Google search engine on the site.
There are some references, but within them, not how to get in touch with any
descendants.
Hope someone else can offer more advice.

Dear Rob
Not sure if you get involved with these sort of queries but I often get
emails about Italian names except the ones I am looking for. I would be grateful
if you know where /who I can get in touch with regarding the surnames Vitale
and Mazzotta, Bretti (all originating from Calabria).
Grateful for any info you can give me.

in the summer. Our patch covers Hampshire, Isle of Wight, East Dorset, West

in the right direction I would be most grateful.
Many thanks
