Don't know if you ever received a reply to your "Clappertown" question?
My husband's family originated from Kingoldrum and he reckons Clappertown was the name of a farm, not a parish!! Kingoldrum is a tiny little place.

Pam, I have in my line a Mary Naylor STRACHAN, born 28 Jan 1860 in Dundee, meaning she would have been in her 80s in the WWII timeframe, although I don't know when she died.
