1. Re: [AR-CEM] Grandparents Grave in Buckner [1]
I was trying to get Cathy directly to the page that had the cemeteries listed for Lafayette County... guess the short cut didn't work. The site is the USGS National Mapping Information Query Form. It is easy to use. This address should work: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form Click on Arkansas in the "State" field. Click on the "County" and in a few seconds the list for Arkansas will be available in the blank field to the right of this. Click on the County you want. To fi

Billie, Thank you so very much for all your work. I don't know if this is my grandfather or not either, but I did find others on the list that I didn't know were buried there. Since the others are there, it is probably him. I will have to research it further. Thanks, Mary P. S. William Henry Cox died January 31, 1955 in Benton, Saline Co., AR Florence G. Cathy, http://www.rootsweb.com/~arcemete/arcem.htm The address above will take you to home page of Arkansas Cemeteries. There you will see a listing of all AR. Counties. Click on LAFAYETTE COUNTY and you will find a listing of the cemeteries, many of which have been transcribed and are ONLINE. It is small, but I did find out there were two cemeteries there. Going towards Stamps, one on the south side that is supposedly really old and one on the north across RR tracks that only has a 100 or so graves that is in our era. That is the one I was at, but did not see them. Thank you. jsteelman@cox-internet.com wrote: > If you have ever been to Buckner, you will understand that there is > probably no City Clerk. The GSGS National Mapping Information gives the names of 4 cemeteries in Buckner... If this comes through, it has the names of all of these Cemeteries. I know that they don't always list all of the old cemeteries, but at least you can find the location of the other ones for future reference. Kay http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnisprod
