Hi, I am also trying to find the names of Sawmills in or around Clay CO AR in
the 1910 time frame. My grandparents and many of their family members were in
that area when my Dad was born 1910. That same year his brother who was 18
years old died from an accident cutting trees. What records are available??
Thanks, Gwen
After owning a lumber mill in IL, my grandfather moved to
Brinkley, AR, where he worked for somebody as a timber buyer. I know that
AR was tree-rich at that time, but my grandfather was sent by his company
from AR to the area around Dora, AL, to buy timber. He died of a heart
attack
in AL while on a buying trip. That was in 1917. I am trying to find who he
might have worked for in AR....the name of the company in or near Brinkley.
