I started this morning thinking about the veterans currently in my life,
then progressed back through the generations. As you honor the veterans in
your life, may you also find the genealogical connections you seek.
Through Midnight, November 11, 2003 ONLY - you may post a Veterans Day
Salute to your family members. Please use the format used by Randy and
Larry, stating your relationship and any information you have about the
person's military service.

Hi Deana,
I've seen that article. At one time I thought Nathan Fletcher was part
of my Smiths so I was looking at him, but I now believe he's from a
different line than mine. He was born 9/17/1819 and died after 1890. I
believe he, second wife Sarah Eliza O'Neal and mother Sophia Childers
(1790-1881) are all buried at Smithland Cemetery in Columbia. I do know
Sophia remarried William G Champion sometime before 1850-- they are all
together in the 1850 AL census-- I forget which county. Before that
you'
These are the kids I have for Nathan, dates based on the census. I
think Nathan was a JP in Columbia-- he's on one of my Smith deeds if
memory serves.
