Hi Deana, I've seen that article. At one time I thought Nathan Fletcher was part of my Smiths so I was looking at him, but I now believe he's from a different line than mine. He was born 9/17/1819 and died after 1890. I believe he, second wife Sarah Eliza O'Neal and mother Sophia Childers (1790-1881) are all buried at Smithland Cemetery in Columbia. I do know Sophia remarried William G Champion sometime before 1850-- they are all together in the 1850 AL census-- I forget which county. Before that you'

These are the kids I have for Nathan, dates based on the census. I think Nathan was a JP in Columbia-- he's on one of my Smith deeds if memory serves.
