My grandmother, Mattie Lillian Jones was born June 4, 1910 in Fulton County, Arkansas around Mammoth Springs. She was one of four children of Frank Elmo Jones and Carmen Ercel Wright. I am told that the family left before the 1920's and relocated in Joplin, Missouri and later to the Quapaw, Oklahoma area. Both sets of her grandparents had lived in Fulton County.
Frank's parents were Jacob H. Jones and Eliza C. Mason. I know that they came to Arkansas after 1880 when they were listed on the MIssouri

Hello Karen,
I have a record of Elizabeth Frances Sears who married William Cochran. I have
William's birth and death dates but no marriage date. She also married William
Gilstrop and they had six children living with them in 1880. She had a sister
named Susan L. Sears who married Thomas Powell. Both girls had another sister,
Alcy Caroline Sears Ward, who is my great grandmother. All of these Sears girls
were born in Georgia and later moved to Fulton County, Arkansas.

I'm desperately searching for any information concerning a Henry Jasper
Turner who lived in Fulton Co. 1850-1870.
Supposedly....he married my Ggrandmother Mary Bookout and had a child Eliza
Eveline Turner b. Jan. 18, 1862 in Fulton Co.
My line shows a Eliza Eveline CROUCH born same day, to William Howard Crouch
and Mary Anne Bookout.
This is a big mystery-and if anyone knows who Henry J. Turner is...or how I
can find out...I'd appreciate the help!

Thanks!!!!Again and again..This is the first evidence I have found of J.H.
Turner, who it is "rumored" was married to Mary Crouch first! I have an Eliza
Turner b. 1862, which seems to be the same Eliza E. that is the child who is
8 b. to W.H. and Mary. Thanks again , Bill...Volamae in Florida
Thanks for your reply. William Wright is still the mystery man in my family
tree. I've seen a picture of him and his wife, but know so very little
about him. I'm told that he use to have a place at Many Islands. I hope
that one day I find a connection to him.

Looking for the marriage of Andrew John CASEY to Mary E. _______ about
1917. They had at least 3 daughters -Thelma, Ida and Lois - who
possibly married during the 1940's. Who did they marry? Mr. Casey
died in 1981 - is he buried in Fulton Co? His father and grandmother
are buried at Viola.
Thanks
Jackie
In answer to the john/sherry query (that's my daughter and son-in-law too) I
can only speak for the depression years. Fulton Co. was cotton, corn, and
cane crops, hard rocky soil, sparce population, but hardworking church going
farmers! My ggrandfather William Martin Green was a Cumberland Presbyterian
Minster in Mammoth Springs in the late 1880's- a thriving community near the
spring! A book entitled Arkansas Angels is a good example of men who
traveled usually by horseback from congregation to con
If anyone has access to the 1870 Arkansas census...Fulton Co.I think. I'm
looking for either Mary Bookout, Mary Bookout Turner, Henry Jasper Turner, or
William Howard Crouch...Mary would probably be 27 years of age. Child, Eliza
Eveline turner, would be 8. I do not have access to 1870, I have 1860 and
1880...Anyone that could do a lookup would greatly be appreciated! Thanks

Hello there. My name is Patricia Strauser Johnson. My Dad was Allie Randolph
Strauser. I can remember many times stopping at the Saddle store with my Dad
and him telling me of riding in the wagon with his Dad to get flour and meal
ground. His Dad died when he was quite young so this was a really good
memory for him. I too would love to have copies of any pictures available
for the Grist Mill, store, or anything else in that area. I would gladly pay
copy and postage. Thanks, Patricia Strauser Johnson .
Couldn't help but respond to the Bald Know inquiry. I lived in Wheeling, (s.
of Salem) in the late 30's. My aunt lived in Searcy. My mother and I would
ride the mail truck from Salem to Bald Knob where my aunt would pick us
up...I think that was the end of the railroad line too, or was it Judsonia?

I was going through deleting all the two extra copies for each e-mail I
received, and found that this happened only with yesterday's mail. Today's
mail seems to be coming through with just one copy of each e-mail.
