Hi Don, I have it written down somewhere at home of who the father was of this 16 yr old. There are several stories about Lottie. One of the stories I have heard is that it was rumored at the time that she poisoned Charles. There would be no way to confirm this obviously, but since Lottie was my grandfather's sister and Charles was my grandmother's brother, I am sure that dinner time was filled with angst. Hi guys I was looking into one of my Langston marriages. Janie Langston was married to a Joseph A. "Joe" Acklin on 01 February 1900; there in Izard Co. Janie's first child (Nellie............1900 - 1901) died as infant and the poor woman died herself; giving birth to a second daughter; Olive in 1905. I don't know if there were any children born to this couple between 1900 and 1905; quite frankly - there could have been. But, does anyone know anything about this Joe Acklin? Wonder if he raised Olive?
