1. [ARIZARD-L] Can someone help me? [1]
I am hoping someone on this list can point me in the right direction to look for some information. My great, great, grandfather fought in the Civil War for the Union. He died in 1929. In his obit it mentions that he also served for 5 years in the Indian Wars. No further information is given. Can someone possibly tell me where I could look for records concerning the Indian Wars? I know he died in Blaine Co., Oklahoma. I don't know how long he was there before he died. I have looked at a few onli

Good Morning, A tip that I have been usuing is that when you send a Word file, you can select .rtf, (rich text format) and it is read by about every computer. That's a great way to get your information (Word files). Jean At 07:42 PM 9/1/01 -0500, you wrote: >Harold, that would be so nice. Hi Regina! How are you? Did I know that you lived in Porterville? First time that I was ever called an Okie, I was about nine years old. We were visiting my aunt and uncle; Pete Lamb and Eula Moore Reynolds Lamb, there and I had gone to the butcher with her. When my aunt introduced me, the butcher leans done over his counter, smiles and calls me a "little Okie." I remember asking my mother what a "little Okie" was when we returned to my aunt's and Mother just smiled! For all I knew it meant that I ne

Junebug, will keep you in my prayers. Prayers are answered and God does heal. I know, God healed me - I had a stroke and liver damage. Earlier this year, the doctor wanted more tests as follow-ups. He was very surprised, because the reports came back with no blockage or damage. I stand in agreement with you. Viki

Well, thanks everyone that answered my Birdsong post. I kept every single word to file. But, still haven't seen where there might be a connection, although one would think that with a surname like Birdsong that there would be and I will proably find that there is. Know what I mean? The Birdsong family that I am looking for is one that is found living with my Robert Sinor in an 1880 Baxter Co. census: 1880 Baxter Co., Arkansas census: SINER Robert 20 AR VA TN

That's okay, cause I can tell you all that I didn't know the answer, even after you spelled it out to me! LOL So, this Elbert "Charles" Franks was the son of Samuel/Lemuel Franks? I didn't know that. I think that this is Betty Mc's line. As a matter of fact, the Franks that I research (my Langston married him) was the son of Oliver Franks, Samuel/Lemue

Hello to all, I got interested in the story about the murder of Lawrence Harber, Sherriff of Izard Co. AR. Would anyone have the complete story? My wife was Amos Harber's Daughter. This would have been a second or third cousin of hers. She was a little girl when this happened. If you have any information I would appreciate receiving your email. prep1040@aol.com

The clerk recorded it on 10 Jan 1888 and when he did he says they were married on the 27th of Dec 1887. The justice of the peace should have know what day he married them.
