Maybe you already know this, but Kent Co. has a terrific genweb site.
Took me quite a few days to go through the wealth of info
there, including transcriptions of historical book, burials,
deaths/births/marriages, etc. It also has great maps, including old
plat maps where I found my ancestors and their neighbors. Click on:

Hello,
Some members may remember me, I am the person who thought I had ARNOTT
ancestors, but then found the family transcribed as AMOTT. An easy
mistake to make when you see the hand-written form of rn or m.
Anyway, I have finally got around to replying to the message below
where Debbie asks for links to Arnott web pages.
I have copied all the instances where the surname ARNOTT, AMOTT and
all other possible known variations in most of the censuses of
Nottinghamshire, England.

Hi Everyone,
This is just to let you know that RootsWeb is updating the old mail
server
that happens to be the one that handles the ARNOT list. What this means
to
us, is that beginning at approximately 7:00 AM today (Friday, Dec. 8th)
our
current server will be "down" for an estimated 10 hours. So, there will
be
no mesages posted during that time. You can still send a message, but
its
posting will be delayed until the new server is operational. You can
also

Off a List I am on, passing this along to you all, Good luck
Debbie :)
Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine has told me about a great new tool for genealogy
research on the web and thought I'd pass it along. They advertise
themselves as
the first search engine devoted completely to genealogy. Supposedly a
search
engine and crawler started by a team of genealogists and devoted only to
that.

Good luck,
Lynn
Ooops Lynn goofed and answered me on the list Ha! Ha!
most action on here lately!
Well lynn I don't' think William will have to look any further, looks like he
connects to my Family Arnot tree line.
this also is a reminder for people to join other Arnot variations of spelling
so they don't miss any postings, a few of my Arnot's changed their spelling
and added an extra "T" cause the dad thought it looked better!! so I am on
Lynn's list too.
Well that's all the excitement tonight so far,
goodnight :)
Debbie
Hello,
I found this very exciting, I found some
Arnot's (mine) in North Dekota, MI
Van Nest - MI
Mark - Many, but not the one I wanted.
Go to URL and on left side click on Search Land Patents
then next page, just pick a State it will set page up
then enter the Surname you want, if lucky, your surname will come up
and some of mine even had a picture of the certificate which can be
printed, or saved to computer plus you can order a copy online.
Good luck!!
