1. [ARPOLK] Burley N. Thompson [1]
Hi All: Looking for my great uncle, Burley N. Thompson. Born in Mena, Polk County, Ark., in 1890. His sister, Mary Emma Thompson was my grandmother. She was born in 1894, in Polk County. I don't know the town. I looked for my Thompson's on the 1900 census for Mena, but they are no longer there. I'm wondering if they moved somewhere nearby. Burley and Mary's parents names, Christopher Oscar Thompson and Mary Emma Thompson(Knowles). I know that Burley is buried in Utah and Mary is buried in Missouri.
2. [ARPOLK] Owens Chapel Cemetery [1]
I recently learned that my husband's great grandmother is almost certainly buried in Owens Chapel Cemetery. Her name was Emma Adeline Miller Hogan and she died sometime after the 1930 census. I had previously been told that her husband Thomas Jefferson Hogan was buried there in 1923, as was her son James Andrew Hogan and his first wife Florence. Does anyone know who might have information to verify these burials? Thanks, Jeanette Bismark

14. Re: [ARPOLK] Gen Society [1]
I think my family connects to these two persons via marriage. The John and Nancy Miller family moved to Polk County (Mena) in 1860. Their son, William Anderson Miller married Minerva Fleming. Wm and Minerva had a daughter, Maud, that married Shadrack Hilton. I know the Whisenhuts are connected to this family as well -- but I am not certain just how they are connected. Cynthia Forde Hempstead, Texas (Wm. A. Miller was my great grandfather). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Battaglia"
