This book was been compiled by Marilyn Hambrick Sickel in 1996 from the White River Journal Newspaper. It is only abstracts of the notices from the paper from the period from August 1907 to August 1957.
Marilyn spent endless hours reading microfilm and then putting the information into book form and in my think did a wonderful job. So please understand where I am coming from when I say:
I will look up names and information from this book or other books I have for anyone that requests it of me but please
Carolyn Clark, thank you so very much also for the cemetery info you send. Wow, here's hoping I can track someone who can help me with "my brick wall" on the Parsons.
Just for the record, Jasper Dobbs married Mary Ann Parsons in 1869 (my grandfather's sister). After the 1880 census they all seemed to just disappear except for my grandfather who turned up in OK in 1900.
Thanks again. If anyone has any info on the PARSONS in Prairie County or around there I sure would appreciate that info.
Myrna

The names Lela Winchester and Thomas family name. There may not be any
connection, but on the off chance that there is... I recently acquired a book of
photos that belonged to my Great Aunt Blanche Brown of Des Arc, AR. In that book
are 2 photos of "Lela Thomas" (guessing about 1920) and also one of "John
Winchester"(1918). Might these be your relatives?
