Hi,
It's actually the Central Arkansas Library System's Richard C. Butler
Center for Arkansas Studies. It's a bit of a mouthful but it's a wonderful
resource located at the Main Library branch in Little Rock.

Was wondering if anyone has any information on John Alexander McDonald. Records show that he died in DeQueen in 1897. I haven't been able to find out the exact death date or where he is buried. Also unable to find out whom his parents were, it is said that he came from Canada. He was married to Deliliah Emaline Asher, I believe in DeQueen. They had the following children: David Daniel b. 30 Dec 1888, Mary Elizabeth b. 22 Feb 1891 and Margaret Emaline b. 3 Jun 1897.

I finally got the index online for the Sevier Co Arkansas Ledger Book
1840-49. This book was taken from the courthouse at some point and put in an
estate auction just as the Sevier County Circuit Court Records book. This
book contains many of Howard Co residents since it later became Howard Co.
You will find a link on the Published Books page on the Sevier Co website.
>From that point go to the Catalog index and click on Arkansas and then scroll
down to Sevier Co.
Good luck in your search!

This went thru one of my other mailing lists. And I think it is a good point.
I think we sometimes forget the internet provides us contacts world wide -
instead of how I did it for many years of just snail mail. So we might want
to completely spell out our state rather than abbreviations to not have
confusion.
Good luck in your search!

Ezekial Campbell is on the Washington Twp, Sevier Co., AK, census in the period of 1828-1841. He later moved with his wife Charlotte to Hopkins Co., TX. Does anyone have information on this my GGGGF or does anyone know of any publication that may have Sevier History that might be useful?
