Dear List Members, If you were effected by the Comcast buy out, then you need to read this, if not delete it. Just this evening, I have receive over 100 requests for me to change e-mail address to a Comcast address. Does Washington Co. have marriage records for the late 1860's? I'm trying to find a date for George W. Bates and Martha A. ? They are on the 1870 census listed as G. H. Bates (33 Wm KY) and M. A.(22 Wf AR) with a daughter W. A. 1 month old. I would be forever grateful if anyone can find that date for me. They moved to Lincoln Co. before the next census and I have no idea where they came from except that ol' George was born in Ky. (maybe). Can anybody HELP me? Frances

Dovie I have looked for many years for a George W. Garner, I found one reference in Platte Co., Mo in 1849 on a tax list. Platte Co. records show the Garner spelled several ways, one is Gardiner and Garnier. Chances are mine and yours are not connected but I had to give it a try. My George W. was married to a Mahala and had a son James Conway born in 1845 I believe in Platte Co., MO. James showed up in Indian Territory in 1868 (I have a document to prove this.) James married Gatsy Parris in 1869 I believe

Greetings, I am attempting to research an ancestor, Samuel Overton Harris, b. about 1818 in either TN or AR and who died perhaps 1836-1839 in Fayetteville, AR. He had married an Elizabeth or Bettie (LNUK) and they had 2 children while in Washington Co., Emily Jane Harris and Samuel Isabell Harris (my 2nd great grandmother who married Willis Casey in Texas in 1856). I have a clipping from a Fayetteville newspaper saying a Col. S.O. Harris died in Dec 1836 (Dec 11?), but am not sure this is the right S.O.

I am looking for the cemetery and date of death for David WILLIFORD born approx. 1797, Mary WILLIFORD died approx. 1844, and Rebecca WILLIFORD born approx.1809. I understand there is a Williford Cemetery in Washington Co. Does anyone on the list have any information regarding this cemetery or know where I might find this information. Do you have any further information on the Mary Williford? I have a g-grandmother Mary A. Williford who was BORN in 1844 but don't know anything about her parents. She was living with the J.W. Maxwell family in Collin County, Texas in 1860. Kathie, I found only two Brittains/Brittons in the years 1860 - 1900: 1869 - Mary Britton to Joshua Nunn The transcriptions for these early years through 1869 do not include the day and month. The original record may have this information though. Frances, I have the marriage records which were published years ago by the Washington Co. Historical Society. I checked these records for 1865 through 1869 but did not find a marriage for George W.
