Hello Deborah,
My grandmother, Mary Ann Plow was born there in 1888 and went to the Golden
Gate State School with her brother Henry/Harry and sister Rosabelle. I'm
sure I've found her in one of Glenville Pike's photos. Ours is a tragic
story, and the family had all left the area by 1909. Her parents were Jim
and Maggie Plow. I'll write more tomorrow, it's great to hear from someone
else with connections to the area.
Regards,
Brenda

Hello,
Many people emigrated from the northwestern part of Germany (called "Ostfriesland") to the USA and Australia.
Today I'm looking for the places or their settlements in Australia. Would you be able to help?
Thank you very much in advance.
Wishing you FROHE WEIHNACHTEN (Merry Christmas) and / und EIN GESUNDES JAHR 2006 (a healthy year of 2006).
Sincerely,
Hans-Georg Boyken

Hello from Melbourne. I wonder if there anyone out there who attended
PARAMATTA state school in Cairns 1938 to 1942??
I am looking for school photos. I have the school Centenary book (1977)
and there is nothing in that, nor in the later one. A letter to ''Cairns
Post'' produced no results, the Q'ld State Archives cannot assist, nor
can the Education dept, or John Oxley Library. The school cannot help,
Cairns Museum is yet to answer.
I am also on the School Friends list
