Hi Margaret
There were/are lots of McCoys in Tasmania from an early time as they are in my husband's maternal side and I know that at least one migrated to NSW, but I think they were in Eden. I have a basic tree, but did not do it myself, but checked birth dates, and have not done any research of the McCoy side yet.
I have a copy of the Aus vital records before 1900, contact me privately if you want me to do a look up.

Hi,
I have lost the email of the person who contacted me about Harriett McCoy.
I looked up the Aus vital records and the only ref for that time frame is the same as the one you already have for a marriage to William Newell in 1839. I looked up McCoy and variations for deaths of males before 1839 and came up with the following
James aged 57 10/11/1827 Tas ref 1515
James aged 26 21/5/1834 Tas ref 3526
John 60 12/2/1834 Tas ref 3365
John 60 29/12/1837 Tas ref 5226

I seek some information re adoptions in New South Wales in the late 1800.
a.. Would the actual birth be recorded with true details?

c.. On marriage certificates would the birth or adopted name be used if known?
I am well aware that only the adopted are entitled to the above information, but currently chasing a 'next of kin" and for all appearances of information in indexes and certificates there

Hi All
I was told a story the other day that might be of interest to some of you............
Apparently there was a photographer on the North Coast by the name of S O'Neill and the story goes that there was a storage shed/garage with something like 34000 glass plate negatives in it. A fellow was to remove them to the dump, but realizing their significance, gave them to Kempsey FHS.
Does anyone know any more about this ???????

Hi Everyone,
I am hoping someone may be able to help me with a little mystery! My grandmother Mavis Anne CORNEY was in the WRANS. On her Service Record her next of kin is listed as Aunty Gladys WELLS. Her address was 325 Marrickville Road, Marrickville. My grandmother was discharged on compassionate grounds (Hi Mum! ;)) in November 1943. We can find no record of an Aunty Gladys WELLS, and I was wondering if the name or address rang any bells for anyone?
Thanks in Advance,

Any lister with links/knowledge of Lancaster families, Casino, early

Napier, NZ.
I have just received a death certificate for on of the relatives and it states
"In a Camp, Young Street, Neutral Bay, North Sydney" I understand that "Asylum" as an early term for hospital so does a broader term apply to "camp". Was a tent city as we would apply or was it a location for derelicts to put the another connotation onto it.
His occupation is listed as Gardener.
