Dear Margaret and others.
Here's a little story to encourage those who think they can't get any further.
My mother was brought up in the heart of Sydney and used to tell us how as
a girl she would have diamonds and other jewels sewn into the hem of her
dress by grannie and would then be sent to deliver them to various working
jewellers around Sydney. Her father, James Henry Lang was a watchmaker and
jeweller and . Mum often spoke of the Degotardis, the Hoffnungs, Foys,
Horderns etc and one of her best frie

All are invited- We would like all those people who are associated with the family names in the former request, whether married into or descended from, to be part of the procession.
Other families who have been resident in the district may also like to register their intention of joining the procession, on Saturday 12th May 2001.
All groups need to register their intention to participate, then organise your fellow family members and make yourself a sign stating the family, and if possible dress in costume o

WYONG FAMILY HISTORY GROUP will be open for research from 2pm to 4pm each Tuesday and Wednesday, starting from Tuesday 17th April 2001.
The address is ;
The Oasis Centre, Hely street, Wyong.
Enquire at the Administration room, as you will need to be issued with a pass, the Centre is very security minded, and you will need directions to find our room in the complex.
We are constantly adding to our resources, Members and Visitors Welcome.

Dear Helen
Congratulations on becoming its list Master . This should keep
you busy !
Are you going to put in all the links to other site
I must apologize to all those people who read every message, but I know that
many are like me - look at the Subject heading and if it doesn't ring a bell
delete it and pass on to the next. All I can say is that I was so busy
getting the details in the original message correct that I didn't check the
spelling in the Subject line. Well as I said before :(
I am looking for further information about any of the following (or all).
They may be separate families but I suspect, and hope, that they may be
related
Sorry for the cross posting but this has been asked on most lists.
In response to an oft asked question I have taken this information from
todays Daily Telegraph historic feature on Rookwood Cemetery.
A small grass square has a monument entitled "The Circle of Love" dedicated
to stillborn children who were often buried in this area in unmarked graves.
Unfortunately the area is not further defined but an enquirey at the
cemetery office would help.

Col Dundon in Sydney.

Hello Wal,
Re your Buff line: Samuel Buff died in the Gosford district on 17.12.1854
aged 22 (a shipwright) and Judith Buff on 10.1.1859 aged nearly 37. These
two Buffs at least are recorded on the Pioneer Park memorial at Point
Frederick's old cemetery.
John Anson of Wamberal died 12.12.1886 aged 77 (buried Pt Frederick);
Samuel Anson died 3.5.1877. There was some connection between Buff and
John Anson.

Hi Listers,
I am one of the fence sitters and for this I apologise.
I have submitted this query before but with no result. I have also appraoched the Wyong Shire Council by em with the same result. So I would like to submit this query to the knowledgeable people of this listing.
WHAT IS THE ORIGINON OF THE NAME OF THE VILLAGE OF "BUFF POINT"
located on the northern extreme of the Tuggerah Lakes.
I ask this question because I had ancestors by the uncommon name of BUFF who lived on the Central Coast albeit
Hi Sue - I have the latest electral rolls for the Central Coast area the
area is known as Dobell. If you know that they live around here I will
look them up. Funnily enough I know a family of Brittons they live in

50's early 60's. Their dad died about two years ago. The names you are
looking for I don't know.

The only places to hold historic rolls are the NSW State Library in

Hello all,
My husband is a descendant of Robert Irvine Coulter WATERS (1850 Hexham
- 1930, Wyong) & his wife Elizabeth (Bailey, eldest dau of John BAILEY &
Eleanor Preston)- (1855 St. Albans-1915 Yarramalong). Robert & Elizabeth
had 14 children and all but one survived to adulthood.
This year I am on a crusade, trying to locate family photos of my
husband's grandfather, Amos Vaultier (Dollar) Waters's siblings, and
maybe??? his Mother Elizabeth Bailey, to add to my database. There was:-
1)- Rachel Waters
Thanks Colleen
I really don't know if there were more children after the girls or if in fact
they are still living in Australia, let alone where in Australia. A big search
when they the BDM are too recent to look up.
