Hi Lindsay,
Do you know for sure that the marriage took place in Australia?
I was trying all the combinations that Walks could be and wondered if it
referred to Worcs,. Worcestershire in UK.
Just a thought -may be no help at all.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year and successful hunting,
from

Hi to all,
I am a newbie, my name is Kevin, I live at Ballina, on the far north
coast of NSW. I am researching my mothers family, surname "King". My
Grandmother was a "Dobell", Sir William Dobell was her cousin. My

I am interested in finding out more about the Matthew's Family:- Sophia
was born 1866, at Morpeth, N.S.W. to Thomas Sparrow Matthew's, and,
Henrietta Wiseman, they had 15 children, all born at Morpeth, except
Sarah b.Moulamein, N.S.W.

Dear List,
Would SKS please look-up birth of Emma OLIVER probably Newcastle area
about 1855.
Only info available is that she had an illegitimate son Thomas Oliver
1875 registered Brisbane. He was later named Thomas Oliver ROSBERRY and
died Melbourne 1885.
I would expect Emma's parents to be James OLIVER & Margaret BROWN and
her birth to be at Newcastle.
BUT this is only a GUESS ! All I KNOW is that she is connected to that
Oliver family somehow.
Two NSW marriages for Emma Olivers were before 1875, s

Hi Kevin,
Firstly I see you live a reasonable distance in relation to the home of Sir
William Dobell? We live not 5 mins. from this home, at the present time
there is a Showing and Exhibition of his works at his former studio-home in

The local RSL honours Sir William in their Foyer with a display of
