Hello All, I'm new to the list and like so many others have a problem child . I'm looking for John Thomas COCHRANE. His marriage cert. says he was born in Raymond Terrace, but, alas I can't find him on the N.S.W bdm. He was married in 1932 at Gloucester aged 47, so I guess he was born about 1885. According to the certificate his parents were William COCHRANE and Mary Mc FADYEAN both deceased at the time of his marriage. New to the list and was wondering if anyone can tell me how I could go about tracing a birth in Maitland. The info I have so far is of a John DICKSON and wife Johanna Maria Irving nee DOUGLAS/S emigrating from Annan in Scotland and being in Maitland first. They had a child there Agnes Christian Douglas DICKSON in 1847 and eventually moved on to Mudgee where they ran a produce store and flour mills in the area. Hi Karen, I just recently found out about my Greenhalgh connection. Here is what I know so far: Sarah Ann Greenhalgh was married to James Cook. They had William Prince Cook on 14 July 1871 at Rydal, NSW. Sarah was 21 years of age and listed her birthplace as Goulburn, England.
