earlier this century. Does anyone out

Through the generosity of Loelene Harrison and Ray Hannah, I have just loaded about 20 book titles onto the Bellingen Gen web books page. Many of the books have a list of the contents or the main headings from the book to give you the flavour.
I think this was a very nice Christmas present to all of us from Loelene and Ray. On behalf of all of us THANKS!!!
Cheers and Merry Christmas

Hello Marg O'Leary and All
Agree with Ken Munro - Clarence River Historical Society site and Maclean
and District Historical Society may be able to help you with your McPhee and
Gray enquiries.
I have a John James Gray of Irish descent married Margaret McDonald of
Scottish descent in NSW 1904. At least one of their children was born in
Maclean, Samuel b. 2/6/1911. Samuel definitely farmed at Palmers
Channel and in later life lived in Maclean.
Happy researching for all in 2000. Rhonda

Hello Ray,
Saw the Munro reply........the Macleay book caught my eye.
Do you happen to know if there are any Newberrys or Gilmores mentioned in
the book, and the cost of the book.
Thanks,

Hello Rhonda
James Paine 1815-1895 and Sarah Ann Larkins as you will know had 8 sons-
Your Richard Paine b1842 and James (II) b1838 are two of them.
James (II) (b.1838) married Eliza Wenham 1842-1903 at Bolwarra and they came
to the Clarence River in 1861 with their (then) infant son James Walter
Paine 1861-1930.
James Walter married Margaret Nicholson 1864-1948 at Harwood Island and
their eldest daughter Eva Maud Paine 1887-1972 is my mother.-so we are
related!
The Paine family is well documented in the re
Marg O'Leary asked about these two families to Maclean.
Firstly, the passing of the Robertson Land Act of 1861 was the reason for the
influx of immigrants from the Hunter river to the Clarence. Most had been
employees and saw the opportunity to own land of their own.
Duncan McPhee (there were two)-One from Argyllshire arrived 1852 and farmed
on the Coldstream Creek near Brushgrove.
The other from Banvie farmed at Palmers Channel and later at Kings Island.

The RACQ map of "Gold Coast-Northern Rivers" shows Loch Lomond on the road
between Warwick and Killarney. It does exist as I passed through there
several months ago.I would suggest "Greenvale" would be a cattle property as
there are a few around there
Hope this may help-
Merry festive season
Ken
I am interested in any information on the ASIMUS family, they arrived on board the "Helene" 1855.
Charles & Caroline came from Germany with twin daughters Matilda & Paulina, and had another six (6) children.
Charles was a vinedresser,
Some time after 1880 Charles and Caroline moved to the Canley Vale area, where they both died and are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery at Liverpool.
Many thanks
Dianne
I was hoping someone in the Dorrigo area may be able to help me with information on a death there in 1943 or at least can anyone please tell me what newspaper would be the best to find the obit in.
I am trying to find out about the death of an AUBREY JOHN ELLIOTT who was farming at DORRIGO. The story goes that he was chopping timber on his property when he was hit by a tree and died a day or two later. I really don't know when in 1943 he died. He was only 33 years old and left a wife LILLIAN ELLIOTT who lat
Dear Listers,
Could someone who has the above book (The first 50 Years) please see if any WATERHOUSES are mentioned - in particular, Henry Benjamin, b.1860 in Melbourne, grew up in Grafton, worked as a journalist and died in Maclean Hospital in 1945.
I am also looking for Richard WATERHOUSE, the great grandson of the above, born in 1946 as I would love to get in touch. I am the great grand daughter of Henry Benjamin's sister.

Hello Ken and All
Thank you for your response re PAINE family. I too had contact with Tracie
Edwards, we corresponded regularly between 1990 and 1995. And yes I must
contact her again to further co-ordinate our research.
As mentioned in another reply I no longer have all my research on computer.
What I have is correspondence, worksheets and photocopies from which I still
have to re-enter on the new program.
I asked about your MACDONALD connections as my husband's grandfather worked
for a Dougal Macdo

Hi Rhonda - interested in your Paine/Munro posting to NORCO list on 8
December for 2 reasons. Firstly the Paine SSX connections and a major
project on Sussex Methodists who came to Australia and Rev.Thos Collins who
ministered in the Sandhurst Wesleyan Circuit (Kent- E/SSX border
area)1832/5. Would be glad to learn more of the earliest (Paine/Wenham)
family, also the Rev.J.A.Webster family, esp. any references to published
obits or other biog. info which details their Methodist involvement both in
SSX and

Hello Kathy
I don't have any known connection with the William Munro married to
Thomasina Newberry in 1900 you mention
I have noted your email address and interest in this record in my database
and will contact you if I come across anything.
I assume you have the marriage certificate from NSW Registry Ref
No.1900/1489.
and you have the date as well as the place of marriage (Lismore) but it does
not show their parents names.
It is possible their marriage was reported in the "Clarence & Richmond
Examiner"(pub

Hi Norco Listers,
I hope you all had a great Christmas. Santa brought me some books (thrillers, not genie books) which I have managed to devour over the holidays. I hope he was kind to you too!
