12. McPhee and Gray to Maclean [1]
Marg O'Leary asked about these two families to Maclean. Firstly, the passing of the Robertson Land Act of 1861 was the reason for the influx of immigrants from the Hunter river to the Clarence. Most had been employees and saw the opportunity to own land of their own. Duncan McPhee (there were two)-One from Argyllshire arrived 1852 and farmed on the Coldstream Creek near Brushgrove. The other from Banvie farmed at Palmers Channel and later at Kings Island. Hello Kathy I don't have any known connection with the William Munro married to Thomasina Newberry in 1900 you mention I have noted your email address and interest in this record in my database and will contact you if I come across anything. I assume you have the marriage certificate from NSW Registry Ref No.1900/1489. and you have the date as well as the place of marriage (Lismore) but it does not show their parents names. It is possible their marriage was reported in the "Clarence & Richmond Examiner"(pub

25. List update / Consider posting your Hunter Family details [1]
Hi Norco Listers, I hope you all had a great Christmas. Santa brought me some books (thrillers, not genie books) which I have managed to devour over the holidays. I hope he was kind to you too! Here is an update on the number of subscribers we have: 93 subscribers to list mode 43 subscribers to digest mode As this is a big increase on when I counted about 2 months ago and there have probably been some changes in the composition of those subscribed, now might be the time to post your interests again.
