1. RE: URUNGA CEMETERY; Davis/Howard [1]
I would also be interested to know if there is an index for Urunga cemetery. Also, is there anyone out there that could help locate some missing family? My great aunt Daisy Davis was born in Taree in 1895, daughter of Edward Davis and Mary Laurie. She married William J Howard in 1920. Her brother Ednie Manning was my grandfather and her sister Leith was my great aunt - Leith married Peter Charleston and lived in Grafton. For some reason or other, the family lost track of Daisy - I remember hearing when

Hi Kay I don't have a specific interest in Riley, the undertakers but my parents live in Ballina and my auntie in Lismore. I'm sure, but could check with them, that Rileys are still a firm of undertakers at North Lismore. Let me know if I can help. Following are lists of names of people who appeared before a Forests Inquiry in 1907-1908 - they were contained in a book I have on loan on the history of the Forestry Commission in NSW. In the book each person has a paragraph summarising their evidence, it has some interesting information on their work, location etc. If anyone has an interest in any of these people, please email me, and I will send a transcript of their paragraph. Following the lists is a paragraph on Bellingen that I thought might be o
9. Woodward [1]
Dear Greg, I don't know about the Casino-Lismore area, but I am interested in the Woodward family of Taree. I have a step-gt-grandfather, William Henry Woodward, born in Lechlade Gloucs, who came out here in the 1890's as a private in the RMLI. He deserted in 1899 and was never heard from again. His father was Henry and there was a William Woodward died at Taree in 1907 whose father was Henry. I am curious to find out if there were one and the same person! Have you any info on the Taree William? Regar

22. Armidale Hoteliers at turn of 20th Century [1]
Hi, I am looking for information on a John Williams who came from England in 1876. He was at that stage in the army. Apparently, when he retired from the army, he became a hotel owner in Armidale. I have always been told it was the Tattersalls Hotel. He would have been the proprietor around about the 1900's. However I know he died around that time and wondered whether the story was confused and if it was his wife Bridgette, who remarried, who helped run the hotel. Maybe it was another hotel in the Armidale
23. burial at Armidale in 1883 [1]
I have the transcription of the death certificate of James MARK. It states that he was buried on 4 January 1883 in the Presbyterian section of the Armidale cemetery. Can anybody help me out with the transcription of the head stone (if it exists)? A photo would be really good and I would, of course, be happy to pay for it and postage. The undertaker is listed as Harper Brothers. Do they still exist and would they have records going back to then? I also believe that his daughter, Mary A B MacKay
