Hi Kerrie
I did a Google search on the name Monkittee & it came up with a number of
hits. One of them: Entries in Greville's Post Office Directory, 1872,
actually has the name George Branch in it. There are quite a few sites that
may give you the information you require

Shoalhaven Anzacs
2005 will see the 90th anniversary of our soldiers landing at Gallipoli on
April 25.
The birth of the 'aussie' icon the Anzac Spirit and our Nation's baptism
was on the shores of Gallipoli in WW1.
South Coast Historian Cathy Dunn has recently commenced research into the
Shoalhaven Anzacs, those who served at Gallipoli.
The research includes Ernest Jackson who was born at Milton, he served with
the 3rd Light Horse, he died on the hospital ship Gascon May 2 1915, from

Does anyone know anything about Monkittee which I think was a large property just outside Braidwood?
I have a George BRANCH living there with his family from the mid or late 1860's to the late 1880's.
Any info welcome.
Thank you

Hi all,
I have just joined this list and wonder if anyone is researching the following names:
KARKOE
CHITTENDEN
DUNSTER
Nicholas KARKOE was a goldminer on his son's birth certificate in 1876 with the family living at Gundaroo. Would anyone know if there was a miner's permit register for this area and if it exists today?
Thank you,
Jenni
Hi,
I am researching John Holmes and Mary Ann Clarke who were married on Mahratta Run (or Station) in the Bombala district in 1875. I would be very interested in hearing from anybody who has information either on these people, or on Mahratta itself. I would be particularly interested to know who named the station, and why they chose the name Mahratta in the first place - having an interest in the Mahratta/Maratha Wars? Thank you.
Warmest regards,
Lynne.
Hello Gloria ,
Is your Boon connected to the Forbes area originally? I have a policeman
George W W BOON b 1845 , died 188 Forbes, married to Malvina Quirk. Their
son George Robert b 1878 is rumoured to have run away from the family and
never been heard from again. Is your man his son? If so, I can fill in lots
of twigs on your tree.

This Register of burial and death dates is NOT a complete register of all

It DOES contain Ticket and Certificate holder deaths, as well as free

I have been using this set of fiche recently.
A bit of a jumble, but you have done well :-)
Out of interest I see you have some people from Castleconnell, Co Limerick,
Ireland.
I have a number of people from Castleconnell settle at Reidsdale & Braidwood
area.
One day :-)) I plan to study the immigrants from Castleconnell.
At the moment I am researching all the early families at Reidsdale near
Braidwood.
