1. Re: [AQ-WESTERN] Mount MORRIS and Jackson [1]
Thanks Tony for all this I was on these sites this evening and they take some reading but are fantastic and I love to read of the places marked along the way. Dickens the son is now buried in Moree I believe. Things just keep ringing bells. As for Cobb - yes that was my first reaction to Peleg heading to Qld and of course Charleville was the base for Cobb - I have the book here also. I've always been interested in Coaching lines - my great-grandfather started one in northeast Victoria and I have be

Dear Denise, My great grandfather William Robert MOORE was in that general area around the time frame you mention. He business was a carpenter- bridgebuilder and general construction. He is known to have built, under contract, a number of bridges, homesteads and ground tanks on the various cattle and sheep properties from Goodooga through to Charleville. Many of the properties both north and south of the border were squatters runs. W R Moore "won" (or became a "selector" of ) the property "Mogil
3. Re: [AQ-WESTERN] Mount MORRIS and Jackson [1]
Thanks Tony, I have since found out thru a Qld list member that my subject Peleg (called Peter ) Jackson was on Langlo Station which I have found is just north of Mt. Morris, in 1891. I know he vanished from Victoria/ and Albury NSW in mid 1880s and the next I know his wife is at Mt. Morris early in 1890, so anywhere in that timeframe was the move north. I also found that he was involved there, either as manager or employee or partner with Charles Frauenfelder - the family was in Albury also! Thanks
4. Mount MORRIS and Jackson [1]
Hi all, I'm Denise and I live in Brisbane but all my research until today has been Victorian based. I have just followed one of my research subjects over the border and into Qld. I found that during the late 1880s and early 1890s, Peleg W Jackson and his wife Anna and their daughters lived at Mt. Morris. A quick Google challenge and I found two references that it flooded about this time, and that it's in the middle of Queensland. I found nothing else, and if anyone can give me some clues on what went o

Hello Denise, Sorry I cannot help you with the question you asked but have you tried this website on place names. http://www.ga.gov.au/bin/gazm01?placename=mount+morris&placetype=0&state=0 regards, Helen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Denise" To: Sent: Wednesday, February 23, 2005 12:27 PM Subject: [AQ-WESTERN] Mount MORRIS and Jackson > Hi all, > > I'm Denise and I live in Brisbane but all my research until today has been > Victorian b
6. MARTYR FAMILY [1]
I have a Barbara SHERWIN (nee POLSON) who married Ernest (Henry) MARTYR, 29 July, 1915, Vindex Street, Winton and had a son, Ernest Henry (Mick) Martyr. I've since found him registered as Henry Ernest. I couldn't find any other children, nor when both Martyr males died or if the son married. I presume they are in the Winton area. Are there any family members out there. Jenelle jmac2005@tpg.com.au
