Dear All

We are planning a Reunion during Easter 2004 in Dalby for any of the CHANT
line and their descendants.
It will be held on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. The venue is not
certain as we need to know the number likely to attend.
John CHANT and Jane (nee WITHYMAN) arrived on the "Cambodia" in Moreton Bay
1/8/1855 with their infant daughter Sarah. They settled in Dalby in 1862

Hi all,
I was hoping that some kind soul could supply with me with details of
. death of John PARSONS after 1883, age at least 30, and
. death of Sarah PARSONS or marriage of Sarah PARSONS after 1883, and
. death or marriage of a Flora Ann PARSONS who was born in 1883 to John PARSONS and Sarah McDONALD.
These deaths or marriages may have occurred around the Naracoorte/Keith region. John and Sarah may be my great great grandparents, so I am trying to prove or eliminate this couple from my

May I put in my tuppence worth re the passenger lists on the net. I agree
with Pam & Elizabeth, why cant the information be available for us to use, I
greatly appreciate the folk on the lists doing the wonderful job they do in
looking up information for us, but there is nothing more gratifying and
satisfying in my books than being able to find it your self, I get such a
buzz from finding the answer to my question on my own, but if I cant, then I
will ask for help from the list.

Hi Paul,
Most of the information you want, can be obtained from a
book , called :
" The BAROSSA -- A Vision Realised ", by six authors,
ISBN 0 646 11251 1 and Names of Authors can be supplied, etc.)
Above should be obtainable from most major Library's, who have
inter - loan facilities, etc. The info you want, would take me too
long to type, but suggest if you could follow up.on above,
Regards,.......Mike.
Hello all,
I believe in at the family history centre in Unley there is an index of
passenger arrivals. If there is someone who will be visiting the centre and
has the time I would really appreciate a lookup for the following person.
Alexander McClelland.
This is Scottish sounding but my guess is he has Irish connections, possibly
with County Cavan.
I am unable to give you a date or even an approximate year with confidence
although I feel he was there before 1865.
All the best,
hope you are enjoying th
Hi everyone, I would like some information on some rellies please if anyone has some time on their hands. I'm after any information available concerning the children of William THOMPSON & Ann STITCH please? He was my g-g-g-grandfather and I have him & family living in and around Glanville, Stepney & Alberton, S.A. As far as I know, he had eight sons, one of which was my g-g-grandfather, Robert Thompson. Robert went on to marry a Miss Ellenor Cleland in 1870. William d. 1895 & Ann d. 1902. I also have i

Hi all,
No one is forced to belong to this or any other list.
If you don't like the information and help given

simple.

I have just waded through about 150 emails on the YKS
list pertaining to Rugby... way off topic and the only
comment from the list owner was to admonish listers
from wishing others a merry christmas!!
I excercised my democratic right and unsubscribed
instead of complaining.
I, for one, am very happy with this list and the help

Hi to all Listers
I was given an amazing gift Christmas time but it came with disappointment.
Two albums of Photographs and Remembrance and Memorial cards for one of my families.
The disappointment was there are no names on the photographs so I don't know who they photographs are.
The album has a name of my "To Aunt(Name) from her loving brother Tom" and the photos have the name of the studios that did the sittings but that is my lot.
Is there anyway of tracing old photographs that were taken in Adelaide,
Dear Diane,
Thanks for the offer, but as I am casual with server,
I am only on very rarely at this stage, but thanks for your kind
offer, and will ask for your help possibly in the new year, or so.
Anyhow, have a happy Xmas, and a great New Year,
to you Diana, and all who have helped me over the past month,
etc.
With Best Wishes,.
Mike.

Hi Paul
I believe that adoption records are not for general viewing. The only
person that can obtain details is the adoptee.
This year all the records on microfiche that referred to adoption were
recalled by the Registrar of BDM so that they
could be erased. This applied to all records at SAGHS and public libraries.

Good morning all,
I'm trying to chase up my husband's NEWITT family. I have all the info
from Certificates etc, but still cannot get them out of South Aust. They
do not appear on the shipping lists [fiche].
We have Thomas bc 1816 & Mary bc 1814 first appearing with the marriage
[ 11 Apr 1868 ] of their son James bc 1846 to Emily Wood 1847.
Both James & Thomas were Ironmongers by trade.
Any ideas would be gratefully received .. I've just about given up
getting this family overseas. There was a John

Hello Jill,
Whilst your message does not give the person's name you are referring to the
term 'Norwood's Hero' leads me to believe you are referring to Friedrich
Wilhelm Von Lindrum of the Lindrum Winery family.
The website of the Lindrum winery states that his wine won Australia's first
Gold Medal for wine in
London in 1873 (London Expo?) and was appointed the first Australian
International Brandy judge in Paris in 1874 - no mention of an 1874 Paris
Expo.
The Von Lindrum family was also very famous for

There is a Web site, but not sure what it is.
Hope this helps,......Mike.

Hi Pam - The only name of ' Annear' that I have is as follows, which
is:-
" Onn the 27th November, , 1865, Matthew, son of John Skewes,
Upper Wakefield [near Gawler, SA], to Selina Anne, eldest
daughter of Mr. B.J.F. ANNEAR, South Yarra, Melbourne.."
(Note - This info, was from ' The Register' set of books, compiled
( by Reg Butler, and Alan Phillips, S.A.)
Pam, as a suggestion, possibly check again, re B.J.J Annear, in Victoria,
and see if you can follow up from there. This is th
