My Henderson family came from Kilmallie, Argyll, Scotland. I can't
find Kilmallie on a map, so maybe it does not exist now. Can any body enlighten me please? Cheers, Jim Cleary, Napier, N. Z.
Good morning all,
It has been some time since I looked at this side of my family - but I
thought I would re post and see if anyone has anything.
I have William Wilson born C 1823 (taken from marriage record) married
on the 30 November 1853 Sarah Brown born November 1834.
After much looking at the TAS BDM CD, I think that Sarah's parents maybe
Thomas Brown and Ann Gosland (?), with siblings Samuel and Ellen, but
would like to try and confirm this.
I have no further information on William Wilson and h

Does anyone recognise this company name. They were shipping agents in
Launceston during the late 1840s.
Arthur John Marriott and Alfred Byass were probably the partners,
although Alfred didn't arrive in Launceston until 1849, so there may be
other (English?) Byass connections.
I'm getting some tremendous help from members of this list. Thanks

Hi all
I am researching the BLACKMORE name in Tasmania. Robert Blackmore married Ann NOTT
in 1836 in New Town. Ann was a convict from Harford in Devonshire, however I have been unable to
find out anything about Robert - how he got to Tasmania is a mystery. He died in 1890 aged 82 in Spring
Bay, but I have no idea where he was born.
They had five children, Mary Ann who married Henry HARVEY, William Edmond (my great grand-
father) who moved to New Zealand and married Mary WATSON, Emma Jane who married

I am researching my Emery family backgrounds - they lived in the Patterson's

have been farmers. George Henry Emery b.17 November 1824 (Tas BDM

I am looking particularly for Listers with similar intersets in early Port

I need more information to piece this one together - I believe my Henderson
line is connected there somewhere, just not sure how. Need to know who the
Jane was, anything at all about Thomas Crombie (as his name appears on
several Henderson marriage certificates), their children - anything that
would help unravel this puzzle.

Hi Listers,
I've just resubscribed to this list as I'm picking up my research again
in this area.
I'm interested in the area called Stocker's or Garrett's Plains, south
of Deloraine, in the 1850s and 60s - who owned it, who lived there etc.
Alfred BYASS (my gg grandfather) lived there then - two childen born
there 1861 and 1862. In 1861 he was an Accountant of Stockers Plains,
Tasmania and in 1862 he was an Overseer, Garritts (sic) Plains. Prior
to that he'd been an Accountant at Calstock.
