Dear John & Jenny,
I can help you Jenny, I published this book in 1991 and there is still a
lot of interest in the contents. It deals with the first arrivals in
Tasmania from when Lt. Col. Collins arrived in 1803, through to 1807-8
when the first settlers arrived from Norfouk Island and continues on to
1823.

I have copied this from another forum, it will help break the cycle of worm viruses.
I thought I would post your readers a nifty trick that will immunise your outlook outlook express from sending any email worms to the address list.
Please note, this will not stop YOU being infected by a trojan, but it will almost immediately inform you of the infection and prevent you losing a lot of mates by sending it on to all of them.

Hi Brett,
I have just been to the Hobart archives and found the following for you:
This is a copy of what was written about the 'Manlius'.
"On Sunday, the Manlius, Cap. Johnson from London with 175 male prisoners,
surgeon superintendent Dr McTernan who has kindly obliged us with some
important news. Guard - Captain Hughes, 30 privates of the 63rd Regiment"

Hi List,
I found the following transcription of an entry from the 1871 census for
Brighton, UK as a result of the Burbury entries that it contained.
While looking at it this morning, I also spotted the entry for Mary D.
BETHUNE. So I'm posting the transcription here for interest and archival
purposes.

G'day everyone,
Can any of you sooo obliging people tell me where I'd find shipping information about the James family leaving Tasmania for New Zealand after the birth of their daughter in July 1864 and before the birth of their last daughter in 1867 in Otago New Zealand.
I've received a letter today from the Otago Settlers Museum with nil result after a search of all their indexes for that period...any other suggestions about outgoing shipping passenger lists?
Any advice or suggestions would be very apprec

The Census Tools site has Census Forms in Excel format for England,

The files are free to download, but you can pay US$10 to the creator
through Amazon if you find them useful (I did).
See http://censustools.com/ for more information.
I do not have any connection with the site, but found the files/fo

I am not sure about Tasmanian Death Certificates, but I got my great grandfather's death certificate from 1945 in NSW and it named all children as well as spouse, even though his wife had left him about 20 years earlier.

Julia, Before the Cascades was used for the the women convicts, they
were housed in the gaol in Macquarie Street Hobart. Many were also on
the Anson for their first 6 months. Some were sent to Macquarie Harbour,
Launceston and Ross (in the midlands)while others were assigned to work
in the community.

FW: Queen's OrphanageMy ancestors entered the orphanage in Sept 1863, and were the last entries in the surviving records. There were references to them in SWD26 and 28. My notes also mentioned I checked SWD6 and 7, but they weren't listed. I didn't note what SWD6 and 7 actually contained though.
