2. Melbourne, Census ? [1]
Richard It is correct that our Census has been destroyed - Australians were paranoid about privacy.. but there are birth, death and marriage cds available for Victoria plus the Victorian Historical Indexes are online and they cover that period http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/CA256C7100199CBE/OrigDoc/~1542E3A9C6B6BE3DCA256C72001CAE6E?OpenDocument&1=13-Index+Search~&2=10-Index+Categories~&3=~ If the above link does not work just use the first part up to au. 3. Re: [AUS-UK-LOOKUPS] Melbourne, Census ? [1]
Hi Richard :) Australian censuses were destroyed after the information was taken from them as far as I know. This site may be able to help you with more information ... http://www.jaunay.com/auscensus.html or http://www.nla.gov.au/guides/discoverguides/auscensus.html which states none with personal names exist after 1901 so I may be incorrect in my opening line!! I hope these help! :D Take care, Rob. IBSSG Stuttgart, Germany, Honey's Home of Genealogy www.honeyshome.com ----- Original Message -----
